THE ENEMY OF EVANGELISM
In this passage we see Jesus teaching a parable to the multitude on the shore. This passage shows us three clear pictures, the Sower which is the Messiah, the soil which is man,and satan which is mammon. In the first three verses we see that Jesus has a plan, he is persistent, and he is patient. The Bible says that Jesus went out of the house and taught the multitude. If we as Christians are going to evangelize we must come out of the house and reach the people. Yes, the word teaches us that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. All I’m saying is that Christ had plan to redeem man, and we need to have a plan and like Christ be persistent, and be patient with the Holy Spirit. Secondly, we see the soil which is man. Man has three conditions, man is rocky, rough, or rich. In the rocky stage man will grow to an extent, however when trouble sets in, man will leave for lack of depth. In other words there is a shout but no substance, a praise but no power. Man can also be rich, because like the psalmist says" be like a tree planted by the rivers of water". If we have been planted by Jesus we shall not be moved. Lastly satan is swift, smooth, and he suffocates. His intentions are to steal, kill, and to destroy. We need to know that Satan does not play fair. He is the enemy of evangelism, however we have the victory with Christ.
