"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I (Jesus) am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" - Jn. 10:10
There are three ways as a child, in which Satan attempts to destroy your future. One is through disobedience. However, in Colossians 3:20 Paul admonishes children to “obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.”
Secondly, Satan attempts to destroy your future by causing you to disrespect those who are responsible in helping you to achieve your given purposes. However, Proverbs 1:8 declares, “My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother.” Jesus even went further and brought clarity to His audience (which were the scribes & Pharisees) in Matt. 15:4 concerning disrespect or dishonor. For He said, "God commanded- honor thy father and thy mother: and He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death."
Finally, the third area in which your destiny could be destroyed is through distrust. This falls upon us as parents. For if we do not teach, train, or temper those who are given to us by God then, we place are children in great danger. And that danger turns into mistrust.
So, we must teach them how to be mannerly, how to show respect, and how to reverence God (see Deut. 6:1-7).
We must train them by being good examples. Prov. 22:6 exclaims, “train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
And through temperance, do not nag nor punish your child in anger.
Don’t let the devil steal your destiny. For you are a gift of God. Psalms 127:3 states children are a heritage of the Lord.
For you are esteemed highly of the Lord. Proverbs 17:6 states you are the crown of old men and the glory of your father. And Matt. 19:14 Jesus said, “Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for such is the kingdom of God.”
For you are:
1. A child of God
2. A joint heir with Christ
3. A temple or dwelling place of God
4. A son and daughter of light
Therefore, don’t let the enemy of your soul steal your promise and destiny, kill your dreams and visions, and finally destroy your purpose! `
