HOW TO BE FREE
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:36)
To experience the freedom that Jesus offers I must:
1. _____Consider_________ the cost of following Jesus.
Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? (Luke 14:28)
In the same way, any of you who do not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14::33)
2. _____Committ____________my life to following Jesus.
Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (Matt. 11:28-29)
On the last day of the Feast, Jesus stood up and said in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.”
(John 7:37)
3. _______Continue____________following after Jesus.
From that time, many of His disciples went back, and walked no more with Him. (John 6:66)
Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit of itself, it must remain in the vine. (John 15:4)
To those who believed on him Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” (John 8:31-32)
