Summary: God is not slack concerninghis promises for life or death.

GOD IS NOT SLACK CONCERNING HIS PROMISES

II PETER 3:8-10

 In today’s world the word or a promise of a man is not regarded or counted very highly of. In not to long of a time ago, a man’s word or promises were all you needed. They would state it and others believed it. Many business deals and other dealings were done with just a handshake. But in today’s world it is a dog eat dog world, it is all about deception. Getting further ahead then the other person. Men state today, I give you my word or I promise, when he has no real intentions on fulfilling his obligation or promise that he has made.

 Then their are those who have every good intention’s on fulfilling their promises. They truly expect and want to repay or show up for what they said they would do. But they get caught in the rat race of today’s world and totally forget what they had said or what they had promised until it was to late. The time in which they were suppose to come and help or repay the debt they owe, but it had already past then bye.

 Both of these instances are a form of slackness. For the definition of the word slack means: not firm, careless,slow,not active, or letting up.

 Today many unbeliever’s say I have heard it preached all my life that GOD is soon coming and that his judgement is soon coming. They are deceived in their thinking, in just because he has not already appeared,that his word is not true. That JESUS is never coming back or his judgement will never come. It is impossible for GOD to lie for he is not man. He is the way, the truth and life.

 In today’s ministries, Preacher are not preaching repentance like in years past. Repentance is hardly ever preached in the matter of the old timer’s preached it. Their is hardly ever a message on repent to escape the firing torments of hell. That is not a message with enticing words or one the crowds want to hear. They want to hear about his coming and all the pleasures of heaven.I also want to know of heaven and it splendor, but we have lost the true salvation message in the church. The message of repentance and confessing JESUS THE LORD AND MASTER OF YOUR LIVES.We all have our opinions on this and that saying He is coming here or their. I beleive in studying his word. But we as ministers, in all our biblical knowledge better return back to the message Jesus preached “ you must be born again” Peter clearly states here, that the prolonging of his coming is do to the fact, he is longsuffering not wishing any to perish but come unto to repentance. We need repentance preached more and more in our churches. But true repentance is being preached less and less everyday.

 Here in our text Peter is proclaiming to us BE YE NOT IGNORANT BRETHEN TO HIS WORD OR TO HIS PROMISES CONCERNING HIS COMING AND JUDGEMENT TO THEM THAT ARE NOT READY.BE YE NOT IGNORANT CONCERNING HIS LONGSUFFERING NOT WISHING FOR ANY MAN TO PERISH BUT TO HAVE LIFE.

 For man bases his whole life on time, mostly on time that he doesn’t even have.But GOD knows no time for he is forever omnipresent.For time is no issue to him. To him there is no time for he eternal. PSALMS 90:4 “FOR A THOUSAND YEARS IN THY SIGHT ARE BUT AS YESTERDAY WHEN IT IS PAST, AND AS A WATCH IN THE NIGHT.” REVELATIONS 1:8 “I AM ALPHA AND OMEGA THE BEGINNING AND THE ENDING SAITH THE LORD WHICH IS AND WHICH WAS, AND WHICH IS TO COME, THE ALMIGHTY.”Therefore nothing is short or long before him for he is everlasting.

 The world today is taking his longsuffering and his mercies for granted. They are acting if there will be no end and that his judgement will never come.They do not expect his coming even with all the world writing and making movies on the coming of the LORD.They live their life as if death will never come, the end will never appear. Many elderly and older age people act if they will live forever, they even over extend themselves in financial dept. We are not guarantee tomorrow or even the next hour. Death could be on our very door step tonight. The time of the lord’s appearing, no man knoweth the hour, for he is coming as a theif in the night. Nobody knows when a theif is breaking in their home.If you did you would take every precaution to stop him. For you would make everything secure and prepared for his coming. For you could not bare a theif stealing your most prize processions. Yet the world lives so careless, so slack, not even in the least concern about their most prize procession. Their lives and their families lives for eternal.JAMES 4:14 “WHEREAS YE KNOW NOT WHAT SHALL BE ON THE MORROW FOR WHAT IS YOUR LIFE IT IS EVEN A VAPOUR, THAT APPEARETH FOR A LITTLE TIME AND THEN VANISHES AWAY.”

 We have no promise of tomorrow or even the next hour. But through the mercies and longsuffering of GOD we still have a chance to get right with him now.FOR TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION. We still have that blessed hope, that blessed assurance,that blessed promise of redemption from our sins. As long as their still breath in your lungs and GOD mercy is still upon this earth you have hope of salvation. To fully escape all the wrath and all the anquish of his judgement. God is not slack concerning his promises but longsuffering, not wishing any to perish, but to have everlasting life with him.To live joyfully in his presence where their is fulness of joy and at his righthand pleasures for evermore.To have peace in knowing that if this would be your last breath. You would be with him forever,enjoying everlasting life, partaking of the divine nature of the true calling of men.

 God did not create hell for man. For hell was created for satan and all his fallen angels.But through man desires of satan temptations hell has been enlarging itself daily. With just enough room for the next lost soul that comes. With it is mouth open wide to devour the next poor unforgiven creature. To torment and terrorize forever and ever. It will make the hardest men who ever lived plead as a newborn babies for mercy. But no mercy awaits them, for it will be to late for them in hell.I believe their minds will alway be in torment remenbering the mercy GOD bestowed upon them trying,pleading and crying out for them to come unto him. To ask forgiveness of their sins.

 EZEKEIL 18:23 “HAVE I ANY PLEASURE AT ALL THAT THE WICKED SHALL DIE? SAITH THE LORD AND NOT THAT HE SHOULD RETURN FROM HIS WAYS AND LIVE.” For this very reason GOD continues to open up his bowels of compassion on men. Allowing his grace to abound for little longer. His HOLY SPIRIT calling and drawing lost souls unto him.Pleading with them over and over again not wishing any to perish but have life and have it more abundantly, to have it for eternal and everlasting.

 JESUS IS SAYING MATTHEW 11: 28 “ COME UNTO ME ,ALL YE THAT LABOUR AND ARE HEAVY LADEN, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST.”VERSE 29 “TAKE MY YOKE UPON YOU, LEARN OF ME, FOR I AM MEEK AND LOWLY IN HEART: AND YE SHALL FIND REST UNTO YOUR SOULS.” VERSE 30 “FOR MY YOKE IS EASY, AND MY BURDEN IS LIGHT.”

 Satan is telling you, you cannot live it, you cannot change, it is to hard to be a christian. For it is nearly impossible for men to live as a christian. I declare unto you, satan is a liar and the father all lies, for sin is to hard for you to continue to live.Look at your life, look at the scars sin has left on you already. For living for GOD is living, for the very purpose you was born. For you were not born to die in sin but to have life through CHRIST JESUS. Man was created for the very purpose of worshipping GOD to put him first in their lives. PROVERBS 13:15 “ BUT THE WAY OF A TRANSGRESSOR IS HARD.” ROMANS 6:23 “FOR THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH BUT THE GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD . Being in sin is harder, then being in the light of GOD. For satan is trying to destroy your mind,your family,your life. He will be not happy until he completely batterers you with his fun and games, laughing as you live in torment. Then you die, and then he torments you forever and ever continuously.

 But JESUS came into the world to give you life. Life more abundantly then you ever experienced before.He will stick closer to you than a brother, closer than even your own mother that brought you out of her womb.He said I will never leave you or forsake you I will go with you always even unto the end of the world.

 These are the sure promise of GOD. For he is not slack concerning them. JOHN 3:16 ‘FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON , THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE”. I JOHN 1:9 IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS, HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST TO FORGIVE US OUR SINS,AND TO CLEANSE US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS.

 His desire is for you to have everlasting life. He wants to give us life more rewarding and more abundantlythen we can even imagine. For us to have peace and happiness in him. To pour out his spiritual blessing on us. For like a parent here on earth, he wants to bless his children.He is calling out tonight by his mercies and grace for you. To be adopted into his royal family and partake in his divine nature for man. To be heir and joint heir with JESUS CHRIST. Do not let this night pass by with out giving your heart to him. Please do not mistake his mercy and grace for thinking that judgement or hell will not come.For it is real and all who do not come to repentance will reap the wrath of GOD.

 God will forgive you of your sins . Give you a complete new beginning in CHRIST JESUS. To erase your sins completely, never for remenbrance any more. Unlike men who say they forgive but never forget. God promises complete forgiveness. PSALMS 103:12 “AS FAR AS THE EAST IS FROM THE WEST, SO FAR HATH HE REMOVETH OUR TRANSGRESSIONS FROM US. TO BE BORN AGAIN UNTO A NEW BIRTH IN CHRIST.FOR A COMPLETE NEW LIFE WITH NEW GOALS TO MEET IN HIM. TO HAVE REWARDS AWAITING FOR NEW WORKS THAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN HIM . IT IS WORTH COMING UNTO HIM JUST TO ESCAPE HELL WITH OUT HEAVEN AND ALL THE REWARDS THAT AWAIT THEN THAT ARE HIS.

DON’T BE SLACK IN ANSWERING HIS CALL UNTO TO REPENTANCE. COME AND ASK FORGIVENESS, BELIEVING IS HIM. COME EAT AND DRINK AT THE MASTER TABLE. FOR YOU WILL NEVER THRIST OR HUNGER AGAIN. FOR IT IS HIS WILL THAT YOU RECEIVE HIS HEAVENLY BLESSINGS IF YOU WILL JUST RECEIVE HIM AS YOUR LORD AND MASTER OF YOUR LIFE. PLEASE CONSIDER ALSO IF YOU ARE SLACK IN COMING UNTO HIM, YOU MAY RUN OUT OF TIME.FOR THIS MAY BE LAST TIME YOU HAVE FOR REPENTING. GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE, WHO’sWRATH IS LIKEN UNTO NONE OTHER. THROUGH HIS WRATH HELL WOULD BURN HOTTER THAN ANY FIRE EVER IMAGINED HERE ON EARTH. DONT DELAY. DO NOT BE SLACK. FOR GOD WILL NOT BE SLACK TOWARDS YOU.
