When Jesus Sat Down
Hebrews 12:1-2
1 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance, and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Have you ever thought about the fact that Jesus finally sat down at His Father’s side?
Heb 1:3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Heb 10:12 but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God,

Rev 3:21 `He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

When Jesus sat down it was a statement that all that would ever have to be done on behalf of the church, and on behalf of every believer was totally and completely accomplished.
John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And He bowed His head, and gave up His spirit.

What was finished?
That is a question we all need to have an answer too.
This is the truth that all creation has been groaning for.
This is the answer to all of our questions.
Will we hear the voice of the Lord as it speaks?
Your salvation is totally complete.
Your healing has forever been purchased.
Your sin debt has been totally paid in full.
When Jesus sat down next to the Father it was a final statement.
Now will we by faith accept his answer?
How many of us live a completed and full life?
If we don’t it’s because of our choices --- not His promises.
Romans 10:8 But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart"-- that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, 9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus {as} Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; 10 for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

We choose to accept and receive.
We choose to make the faith statements of God’s Word a part of our daily lives.
God’s promises will never fail.
We are the ones who fail to appropriate them into our lives.
Where is God’s promise?
It’s in the Word of God.
Where is the Word of God supposed to be?
In --- your --- mouth.
It’s your responsibility not God’s to bring them into your life.
God furnishes and also backs up and supplies his promises.
We have to then --- take them --- by faith.
We must speak forth the promise, --- the miracle, --- the healing, --- the salvation, --- whatever it is that we need from God.
The speaking forth in faith --- is our part of the formula.
This speaking forth comes about even in our day to day conversation.
The words that come out of our mouths are seeds.
Are they seeds of life and health, or death decay and destruction?
We make the choice.
Watch your words.
Watch your proclamations.
Watch your bold declarations.
I say watch them --- because they will come to pass.
Many children have lived a broken childhood and eventually a destructive adulthood simply because of the words someone spoke over them as a child.
Have you ever been marked by the words of another person?
Possibly a name someone has called you and it stuck.
If so, remember someone can be marked by your words also.
Everything that your life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness consisted of was given to you when Jesus sat down.
The Word of God --- is your Declaration of Deliverance.
God has set you free from the law of sin and death.
You have been delivered from the destruction that you were headed for on your own.
God sent Jesus Christ to redeem you and bring you back to him.
What have you done with the gift? --- Have you left it unopened?
When we refuse for the things of God to operate within our lives we leave God’s gift unopened.
Have you just used a part of it, and put the rest back for a rainy day?
If so, you are missing out on some of God’s greatest blessings.
God’s blessings aren’t just for the future in heaven, they also exist for this lifetime also.
Or could you say, "I have fully immersed myself in everything God has for me!"
If you don’t know God today a work has been completed with your name on it.
It’s the most personal gift you will ever receive.
It’s been offered by the creator of this world and it was finished and made ready for you almost 2000 years ago.
Since Jesus sat down he’s been waiting to see if you will open the gift.
