ourselves carefully, can hurt us spiritually and in so many other ways. Music,

There are so many things involved with guarding our minds from worldly things
Colossians 3:1-4 - Since, then, your have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on
things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on
things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with
Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with
Him in glory.
Understanding the Mind:
I. The Mind is the Center (Catalyst) of Our Decisions in Life

B. Where the Mind is, So is the Heart
Proverbs 23:7 - For as he thinks in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, says He to you;
but his heart is not with thee.
II. Flesh Controlling the Mind
satan gets too much credit for our sin(-s) - sometimes it’s just the flesh which is
controlling us... sometimes it is satan, who is using our flesh, to control us...
We NEED to get our FLESH under control
Ephesians 2:3 - Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the
lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by
nature the children of wrath, even as others.
Colossians 1:21 - Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your mind
because of your evil behavior.
III. Spirit Controlling the Mind
We NEED to be led by God, by His Spirit, to live a victorious Christian life
--a life which God wants us to have
Allowing God to control our our minds... what comes into it... WILL control
what comes OUT... controls our thoughts... controls the amount we SIN!!
Romans 12:2 - Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is --
his good, pleasing, and perfect will.
1Corinthians 2:16 - For who has known the mind of the Lord that He may instruct him?
But we have the mind of Christ.
Acts 17:11 - These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received
the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those
things were so.
Ephesians 4:23 - And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
(NIV) to be made new in the attitude of your minds.
Hebrews 8:10 - This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time,
declares the Lord; I will put my laws in their mind, and write them on their hearts: and
I will be their God, and they will be my people.
1 Peter 1:13 - Therefore, prepare your minds for action, be self-controlled; set your
hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.
CONCLUSION:
We NEED to guard our minds from things which don’t belong, to do this we NEED go
after things of God. WHAT do we fill our minds with?? Are we having trouble in
our daily, Christian lives? If so, what are we filling our minds with?? We NEED to
SET YOUR MINDS on things above!!
