“God’s Way”
The Lord says, “My thoughts are not like your thoughts. Your ways are not like my ways. Just as the Heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”( Isaiah 55:8-9.) If God allows me to live till November of this year, I will be 58 years old. Something’s I have learned through experience, other things I have found through the process of what we call life. One thing is for certain, I can find rest in God; only he gives me hope. In our own community just in the past few months, I find in my own thoughts asking, why God? I have studied the Word of God through the power of the Holy Spirit, have prayed and read numerous commentaries continuously and still find questions unanswered.
The path of roses or thorns that we choose to follow doesn’t always make life any easier, sometimes it makes it harder. The more I should understand God, the less I find I know of His Greatness and Divinity. I came across the following scripture this past week and I want to share it with each of you. (1 Peter 4:12-13), “ My friends, do not be surprised at the terrible trouble which now comes to test you. Do not think that something strange is happening to you. But be happy that you are sharing in Christ’s suffering so that you will be happy and full of joy when Christ comes again in glory.” As Christians, we can expect persecution in some form none of us are exempt from anything. Persecution is something that God allows and is designed for our own personal testing. (Psalm 34:19), People who do what is right may have many problems, but the Lord will solve them all.
We should above all rejoice in the situation we are in. Rejoicing not only lifts our spirits, but allows us to triumph over all things. And above all things we must entrust our lives, trials and misfortunes to The Almighty God. (2 Corinthians 4:8-9 “ We have troubles all around us, but we are not defeated. We do not know what to do, but we do not give up hope of living. We are persecuted, but God does not leave us. We are hurt sometimes, but we are not destroyed.) I believe that America is the greatest and most blessed country in the world. But never have I seen a time when we need more encouragement through the mercy and the grace of a loving God, especially right here in our own community. (Isaiah 40:31), “But the people who trust the Lord will become strong again. They will rise up as an eagle in the sky; they will run and not need rest; they will walk and not become tired.”
Even though I will never understand God’s thoughts and his ways and why he allows bad things to happen to good people, I will always trust his ways.
And acknowledge his authority as our only help. (Romans 8:28), We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him. They are the people he called, because that was his plan.)
