The doctrine of Hell is not a popular one, In fact you seldom ever hear any preaching on Hell anymore, But Hell is real, Listen my friend if their is a Heaven for the saved then in order for God to be a Holy and Just God there must be a Hell for the lostand if you are any kind of a Bible student, you must admit that if their is one thing the Bible teaches throughout and that is that there is a Heaven for the saved and a Hell for the lost. There are three reasons for this message #1 I believe that if you look around you will see that his coming is nigh at hand. #2 That God doesn’t want a single person to die and go to a place called Hell, 2 Peter 2:9 " The Lord is not slack concerning his promise as some men count slackness: but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." and so manybe through the message it will cause the saved to get a burden for the lost, when they realize all that they will go through, or the lost to realize the pain and torment that awaits them in a place called Hell.
You know the first question that people usually ask is Preacher if there is a Hell then where is it???
Well I believe that Hell is in the center of the earth, I say that because everytime the Bible uses a word to describe Hell it uses the word down, Job 17:16 " They shall go down to the bars of the pit..." 33:24 " Deliver him from going down to the pit.." Ps. 28:1 " I become like them that go down into the pit.." 30:9 " Go down to the pit.." 55:15 "Go down quick into Hell.." Prov. 7:27 " Her house is the way to hell going down.." Is. 14:15 " Thou shalt be brought down to hell.." Ez. 32:27 " Gone down to hell.." on and on I could go through out the Bible Hell is described as being down... In fact did you know that the geographical pull of the earth meets in the center of the earth and where it meets there is no gravity it is as a bottomless pit, isn’t that how the Bible describes it, time and time again..
#2 What is Hell like ?????????
a. A PLACE OF ETERNAL CONSCIENCE - Regardless of what some may say life does not end at the grave, in fact it just begins. You see in Gen. 2:7 "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul.." That soul continues to live even after death, you see death speaks of seperation, it is when your body is seperated from your soul, but that soul continues to live on. Look at our scripture the beggar Lazarus, dies and is carried by the angels into Abrahams bosom, then it says and the rich man dies and is buried and verse 23 " In Hell he lifts up his eyes, being in torments and SEETH Abraham afar oft and Lazarus in his bosom.." Do you see he was aware of it all, he was aware of the beggar, was was going on around him even his brethren on earth verse 28, you see life does not end at the grave, HELL IS A PLACE OF ETERNAL CONSCIENCE
#2 HELL IS A PLACE OF A LITERAL FLAME OF FIRE- Some may disagree and try to say it is figurative, but I believe that God said what he meant and meant what he said, Mark 9:43 " Go into Hell into the fire that never shall be quenched.." Even in our text he says in verse 24 " I am tormented in this flame." You see those that go their will never escape the flame
#3 HELL IS A PLACE OF ETERNAL TORMENT- Can you imagine a time when all that you will ever experience will be pain, turn if you will over to Rev. 14:9-11 " And the third angel followed them saying with a loud voice, if any man worship the beast and his image and receive his mark in his forehead or in his hand , the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out WITHOUT MIXTURE INTO THE CUP OF HIS INDIGNATION, AND HE SHALL BE TORMENTED WITH FIRE AND BRIMESTONE IN THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY ANGELS AND IN THE PRESENCE OF THE LAMB AND THE SMOKE OF THEIR TORMENT ASCENDETH UP FOR EVER AND EVER AND THEY HAVE NO REST DAY NOR NIGHT..." My friend that means that when God pours out his wrath it will be without GRACE< MERCY #4 HELL IS A PLACE OF ETERNAL MEMORY- Look at our text in verse 25 "Son, REMEMBERthat thou in thy lifetime receivedst.." I believe that one of the worst things about Hell will be your memory, I believe that you will remember every time someone gave you the Gospel, I believe you will remember every time that you trampled under foot the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that you will remember every time you heard a message on saved by Grace, every time that you rejected the Love of the One who died for you on Calvary, every time you said no to the wooing and drawing of the Holy Spirit #5 HELL WILL BE A PLACE OF ETERNAL BURDEN FOR THE LOST- Look at verse 27-28, Isn’t it a shame that a person must go to a place called Hell before he becomes burdened for the lost, you see he could find no ease for his suffering then he became burdened for his brethren stil on this earth and he didn’t want them to go through what he was going through, oh my friend how we do need a glimpse of what Hell will be like for those who go there and get a burden for our family our friends our neighbors, our co-workers #6 HELL WILL BE A PLACE OF ETERNAL PRAYER-Look at verse 27 " I PRAY THEE..." My friend lets saturate Heaven with our Prayers now that God will use you and I to lead others to Christ that they might not go to this place called Hell.. You say Preacher you told us wher Hell is? What Hell will be Like?? How terrible it will be but what could possible be worse than all of this, let me show you turn to Matt. 7:21-23 READ You know what could be worse it is living a life of going to church, being faithful and then being cast into hell, You say can that happen well according to this passage of scripture yes, you see I believe that our churches aare full of people pretending to be something there not, listen my friend religion will not get you to heaven, morality will not get you to heaven, living right will not get you to heaven, being involved in church will not get you their either, I tried it for years, and then I found this scripture and God said this is you, I bowed my head and called out to God be merciful to me a sinner and he saved me, and I became a new creature in Christ I no longer wanted to do the things I used to do, and now all I want to do is to Please my Master, the Lord of my Life. Listen if you’ve never saw yourself as a sinner, and called out to God to save you you can now and He will. Now my friend tell someone else about the goodness of God, Pray that God will open up doors for you to wittness for him.
