The Anointing
1 Samuel 16:10
1 Samuel 16:10
10 Jesse had seven of his sons pass before Samuel, but Samuel said to him, “The LORD has not chosen these.” 11 So he asked Jesse, “Are these all the sons you have?”
“There is still the youngest,” Jesse answered, “but he is tending the sheep.”
Samuel said, “Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives.”
12 So he sent and had him brought in. He was ruddy, with a fine appearance and handsome features.
Then the LORD said, “Rise and anoint him; he is the one.”
13 So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the LORD came upon David in power. Samuel then went to Ramah
Noah was troubled by and ungodly world. But one day he was anointed to build.
Jacob struggled for years with who he was compared to who he wanted to be. But one day he was anointed to walk.
Moses struggled to find his place in the purpose and will of God. One day he was anointed to lead.
The Anointing Flows From The Head Down.
Psalm 133:2
It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down upon the collar of his robes.
Jesus is the head.
His anointing is flowing, but we must be in alignment (in fellowship) with Him.
The Anointing Will Be “as the dew of Hermon”
Psalm 133:3
It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion…
Heavy, even in dry weather.
The Anointing Will Take Authority Over Your Situations
Psalm 133:3
For there the Lord commanded the blessing
The Anointing Will Lift Burdens For Your Shoulder.
Isaiah 10:27a
In that day their burden will be lifted from your shoulders,
The Anointing Will Take Away The Yokes
Isaiah 10:27
In that day their burden will be lifted from your shoulders,
their yoke from your neck;
Yokes cause you to go places you really don’t desire.
Yokes cause you to say things you really don’t desire.
The Anointing Will Destroy The Yoke
Isaiah 10:27
…the yoke will be broken because of the anointing.
It isn’t enough to just lift the yoke from your neck.
If you leave a yoke enabled, it can resume its previous position at any time.
The anointing dismantles everything that Satan had planned for your life
The Ark and Dagon
1 Samuel 5:1-4
After the Philistines had captured the ark of God, they took it from Ebenezer to Ashdod. 2 Then they carried the ark into Dagon’s temple and set it beside Dagon. 3 When the people of Ashdod rose early the next day, there was Dagon, fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the LORD! They took Dagon and put him back in his place. 4 But the following morning when they rose, there was Dagon, fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the LORD! His head and hands had been broken off and were lying on the threshold; only his body remained.
Head and palms were cut off.
Everything Satan planned to do (his head) and all the things he wanted to do(his hands) has been destroyed by the anointing.
Isaiah 54:17
No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, says the Lord.
