Have you ever discovered walls in your life? Or, have you face an obstacle that you thought would never leave you? I also would like to know, is there anything in life that has ever stopped you from reaching to the place in life that you wanted to get too.
In this walk of life, we need to understand that the walls must come down. In defining walls, it leads me to understand that walls are signs of protection and they are signs of sheltering. It leads me to draw a picture of a house. In building a house, you must understand that the wall is a sign of privacy and it is a sign of protection. I have never seen a house without walls. For if we understand this walk of life, we will understand that in order to reach the places that God has called us to, we must not allow our walls to burden us down and lead us to places that the enemy wants us to be.
I want each of you to understand that walls can be a sign of the enemy keeping us from our wealth, our healthy living, and everything that God has promised us. I know that in this walk of life burden sometimes becomes hard to bear, but in the midst of the trouble and in the midst of the rain, I have come to understand that God will never leave me nor forsake me.-{Hebrews 13:5} Since I am confident that God will never leave me nor forsake me, I have the full assurance of the blessings of God. I am a glad that my daddy is rich and I don’t have to long for anything because he got all power in his hands.
If people will understand that no matter what come or not matter what come, God is right there besides you. If we go to our text today, we found that we are dealing with Rahab. Rahab was a harlot as well as a prostitute. Rahab hid spies in her house and she prostituted not because she wanted too, but she prostituted because she had to make a living. I want you to understant that in this walk of life, there are times when the enemy will have you so bound that you don’t know what to do.
I am so glad that the spirit of God has given me the understanding that I can walk in the middle of the storm and I can live and not die to declare the works of the lord. I am so glad that the devil can steal my toy but he can’t have my joy. I am so glad that the Lord has set me in high places and I don’t have to worry about my enemies. My enemies may be great, but I am so glad that in the midst of it all, I am more than a conquerous.-{Romans 8:37}
We found today that we are dealing with Jericho. Jericho was surrounded my a wall and the walls needed to come down. In Joshua 6, we found that in verse: 2, ] And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.
[3] And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.
[4] And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.
I want to stop here and have you to know, God already plans the ending from the beginning. I don’t know why people would gather the thought in there minds that God is an uncomplete God. It takes me to when God sent Abraham up to Mount Sinai in Genesis 19 to sacrifice his only son Isaac. Many had said different, I don’t believe God would have waited for Abraham to get up to the mountain and put the ram in the bush. I believe God had already put the ram in the bush from the beginning. If God had not put the ram in the bush, I feel the task of God would have been incomplete.
We as believers must understand that whatever our wall may be, it has to come down. You may be suffering from a health problem, you got to get in that mirror and let the devil know, "I ain’t going to be sick another day in my life..." Many people don’t understand, the miracle sometimes of there breakthrough is there testimony. That’s why it behoovers you to understand, testimonies should be evidence as to what God has done in your life. I am tired of people lying and telling what God has done for somebody else. I don’t want to hear what God done for grandmother, tell me what God has done for you.
There are some walls we are dealing with that must come down. The wall of depression must come down. For God loves a cheerful christian. God don’t want his children broke, busted, and disgusted. There are some people who can’t get nowhere in life because they are always trying too see how they can take from you. I am tired of lazy, no-good christians who are always reliant on you for there sources. It is time that you stand and be whom God has called you to be. Stop! Look! and Learn! It is time for you to be whom God has called you to be. And many of you are wandered why you are at the place in God as you were on last year. Many of you are wandering why others are prospering and you’re still driving your 78 chevy station wagon. It is not because God is a respector of person, for we know Acts 10:32 lets us know, "For God is no respector of person." I like a song that the old saints once sang, "Put your time in, it will pay off afterwhile."
It is just like going to work, if you don’t clock that card in, you won’t get paid. If you don’t live right and give God all that you have, you ain’t going to get to the blessings of God. It is time for us to wake up and smell the coffee.
The second wall is: OVERCOMING PEOPLE! I think this is where many people struggle as believers. If people would not let what others say about them get them down, I know we would have more believers and more people working for God. The problem that I have with believers and I see this in counseling, people will change everything about them and what they have long worked for to please someone else. Genesis 1:26 says, "So God created man in his own image and in the likeness of him." If God wanted me to be Bro. Jack, he would have created two Bro. Jack with the same identical traits. The reasons that God didn’t create Bro. Jack and I the same is because he knew that there was something that Bro. Jack would need from me and something I would need from Bro. Jack. I see young people especially, knowing weave don’t fit them, they will go and spend $120.00-$200.00 on some mess they know isn’t going to fit them. Young people will go out and buy these expensive clothes because they best friend have them on. I have learned to JUST BE MYSELF! If you don’t like me for being me, I am not going to apologize because this is how God made me and I know that when he made me, he didn’t make no mistakes in creating me.
The third wall is: BEING OBEDIENT TO GOD AND HIS WORD! This is the reason why many christians are struggling finacially, spiritually, and physically. They are trying to do things there way and not God’s way. Honey, I am here to let you know, God will have the last word. I don’t care how many degrees you may have and I don’t care how wonderful you can speak, if you don’t do it God’s way, you will suffer. It reminds me when God told them to take the ark of the Convenant back to its proper placed, he instructed them to carry the ark on there shoulders. They though by going and getting a new cart they would be impressing God. My brothers and my sisters, why impress someone who sees you and knows everything you do? If you think you have enough to impress God with, I serve you notice today and I want to let you know, YOU DON’T! However, one of the men got struck by God and he died because he was doing it his way and the other men became fierce and David began praising God.
Isn’t my God something else. He can do whatever he wants and don’t have to answer to anyone.
I want everyone to know, whatever wall you may be facing in your life, I want you to know that the walls must come down. If you would finish reading Joshua, you will find that they march on the first day and nothing happened, they marched on the second day and nothing happened. They marched until they got to the seventh day and nothing still happened. I want you to know, when you’re marching, don’t just march, praise God while you’re marching because your deliverance is in your praise. I don’t care what the doctors, or the bill collectors may say, "Your deliverance is in your praise. " As a matter of fact, you ought to go to the doctor’s office and let the doctor know just how confident you are that God is a healer. You should go the the bill collectors and shout in there building and let them know how God is Jehovah-Jireh. I am here to let you know that God will be whatever he needs to be when he needs to be it.
I am reminded of my God in Genesis again. Moses went to God and said, God who am I to tell sent me, God said tell Pharoah, I AM SENT YOU. Honey, my God will be the I AM and whatever else he needs to be and I am glad that in the midst of the storm and rain he will be right besides me.
However, when they began praising God, the walls came down and I want you to know that your deliverance is in your praise. I don’t care what you’re going through, let the devil know, I am coming out. It may not look like it right now, but I am coming out. It may be a while from now, but I am coming out. I may have to cry a little while, but I’m coming out. I may have to suffer a little while, but I am coming out.
Just trust in God and everything will be alright.
