SIX HINDRANCES TO WORSHIP
1. PRIDE is a hindrance you must overcome to be a true worshiper.
Luke 9:26
26 If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.
John 12:42-43
42 Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not confess their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue;
43 for they loved praise from men more than praise from God.
2. The Feeling of Being UNWORTHY is a major hindrance in worship.
Rom 8:1-2
1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
Ps.103:12 (CEV)
12 How far has the Lord taken our sins from us? Farther than the distance from east to west!
3. Your HEART can be a hindrance in worship.
Prov 4:23
23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.
Isa 6:5
5 "Woe to me!" I cried. "I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty."
Ps 15:1-2
1 LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill?
2 He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart
4. UNFORGIVENESS can be a big hindrance in the life of a worshiper.

15 See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled;

5. When your MIND is else where or DISTRACTED it can be a hindrance.
2 Cor 10:5
5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
6. My EMPTIONS can be a real hindrance in my quest to become a true worshiper.
Matt 26:41
41 "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."
