WHY THE WISE-MEN WERE WISE

4 Reasons
I They were wise men because of the person they sought.
vs 2 Saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.
A) They were looking for a Man.
B) They were looking for a Monarch.
C) They were looking for the Messiah.

II They were wise men because of the perils they fought
A) They faced vast distanced.
B) They faced varied dangers. (vs 8)
III They were wise men because of the plan they were taught
A) Reading of the Scriptures.

B) Revelation of the Star.

C) Restraint of the Spirit.
“The Holy Spirit has one major job, and that is to lead people to Jesus”
IV They were wise men because of the presents they brought. (vs 11)
A) Gold - The most expensive medal it represent His deity Ps 21:3
B) Frankincense - The most expensive perfume it represnted Him being God Ex. 30
C) Myrrh- The most expensive herb it represents our redemption.
Christmas is not about the cradel... We are saved by His death not His birth.
Three types of people
Herod- Represents the opposed the ones who don’t want to be burdened.
The Priest - Represents those who didn’t care who don’t want to be bothered.
The wise men - Represents those who are receptive toward the Lord Jesus, who want to be blessed.
