There is a link between the Parable of the The Sower and Christ’s Temptation.
A. Things of Need
1. In Christ’s temptation there is need for bread (Luke 4:3-4). While He was
hungry (vs. 2), He did not fall for Satan’s ploy.
2. In the Parable of the The Sower there is need for a path (Luke 8:5, 12).
The path was used to walk between the good soil.
B. Things of Riches
1. In Christ’s temptation, He was tempted with ruling the world, including
the riches it came with (Luke 4:5-11). He knew that He would eventually rule.
2. In the Parable of the The Sower the seed that falls in thorns does not
produce because of focus on riches (Luke 8:7, 14).
C. Things of Testings
1. In Christ’s temptation, He was tested on top of the Temple (Luke 4:9-12).
He passed this test and all of them in His life.
2. In the Parable of the The Sower the seed that falls in rocks does not
produce because of testings (Luke 8:6, 13).
The seed is the Word of God (Luke 8:11) and Christ used the Word of God each
time to ward of Satan.
