I. The Power of His Presence
A. Text: Exodus 3:1-5
II. The Attempt to Annihilate
A. Exodus 1:6-10, 15-22
B. This attempt to annihilate a coming deliverer was a shadow and type of an attempt to destroy another deliverer, which was to come. (Matthew 2:16-18)
C. Satan realizes what is to come and what is to be birthed within you. Therefore, he will attempt to annihilate you before the vision of God is birthed within you.
III. God’s Provision to Prosper and Protect His Plans
A. Exodus 2:1-10
B. Just as baby Moses was taken away and hidden from death, so would baby Jesus be taken away.
C. This was not the only time God sent Moses away to protect His plan. (Exodus 2:11-15)
D. Moses spent 40 years on the backside of a desert, to prepare him to spend another 40 years leading a group of wanderers in the desert. What a life---80 years of desert life.
IV. Becoming Pregnant in God’s Presence – Exodus 3:1-10
A. Once Moses stood in His presence, he became pregnant with the vision of God. (Barefoot and pregnant)
B. Every time God makes His presence known to mankind, and mankind has intimate worship with Him…that intimacy will impregnate man with a vision and a blessing for their life. For example, this wasn’t the first time Moses stood in the glory of God and received a word of vision. I am reminded of when he went to the mountaintop to receive the commands of God written on the tablets. (Deut. 20)
V. Why Do We Make Excuses for Our Problems?
A. Exodus 4:1-1 “But suppose…..”
B. Verse 10 goes on to say that Moses complained that he didn’t talk well.
VI. When We Trust Him, We Will No Longer be Barren
A. The Bible speaks of many women throughout that were barren and could not give birth to a child.
B. However, there are a few that, when they committed their ways to the Lord, He prospered them and gave them blessings of birth. Some examples are:
(1) Sarah – Abraham’s wife/later gave birth to Isaac (Genesis11:30)
(2) Rebekah – Isaac’s wife/later gave birth to twins, Jacob & Esau (Genesis 25:21)
(3) Rachel – Jacob’s wife/never gave birth herself, but trusted God to give her children through her maidservant. (Genesis 29:31)
(4) Manoah’s wife –never mentioned her name/later gave birth to Samson (Judges 13:2)
(5) Elizabeth – Zacharias’s wife/later gave birth to John the Baptist (Luke 1:7)
C. II Peter 1:2-11
“Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has been given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. But also for this reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; to virtue, knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will neither be barren (useless) nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
