BE INFORMED
I Thess. 4:13-5:11
Jesus spoke concerning the future when He said in John 14: 3: And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. He say's that He is coming back again!
Paul said that we are "Son's of light" in I Thess.5: 5. While we wait for His coming, we need to be informed so as to help others find the truth. Are you informed about?
I. THE DEATH and RESURRECTION
13: But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14: For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
Jesus is referred to as "the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep". Another words, He is the example of what will happen to us.
II. THE SEQUENCE
A. Return or Second Coming. 16: For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven.
B. Resurrection. 16: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
C. Rapture. 17: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
D. Reunion. 17: caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
III. WHO WE ARE
5: 5: Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Humbly serve Him. Live expectantly, being alert, not wavering in faith and encouraging one another. 5: 11: Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
