INTRODUCTION

The Gospel of John uniquely presents Jesus through seven powerful “I AM” statements. These declarations are not mere metaphors; they reveal the divine identity of Christ and His relationship with humanity. Each statement unveils a specific aspect of His nature and mission.

The phrase “I AM” echoes God’s self-revelation in Exodus 3:14, where He declared Himself as “I AM THAT I AM.” By using this expression, Jesus clearly identified Himself with God, affirming His divinity and eternal existence.

Understanding these seven “I AM” statements is essential for every believer. They reveal who Jesus is, what He offers, and how we are to relate to Him. Each declaration addresses a deep spiritual need and provides a divine solution.

He is the Bread that satisfies, the Light that guides, the Door that saves, the Shepherd that leads, the Resurrection that gives life, the Way that brings us to God, and the Vine that sustains us.

As believers, we are called to know Him in these dimensions and to depend on Him fully. In every situation, Jesus is enough.
