It is widely said and often spoken that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. We must also understand that the fear of God follows a lot of blessings as mentioned in the Word of God. It is also His Will and He desires that we fear Him. It is important for us to know that the fear of God follows number of blessings. As quoted before the fear of God is not something that we need to be scared or threatened of but fear out of reverence for who He is. We are gonna look into a few promises and blessings that the Bible speaks about this particular topic.
Psalms 25:12 (a), the Psalmist King David starts by asking himself a question. He talks about the identity of the man that fears God. Like stated many times it is His Will that we fear Him. Verse 1(b) says that "Him shall He teach in the way He chooses". Amen.
1. Psalms 25:13 (a): Him shall He teach in the way He chooses:
It is a wonderful thing to be taught by the Lord. I can say this assuredly. If the Lord is our Teacher then we cannot see any failure in our lives. The Bible also says that the Holy Spirit is our Teacher. He guides us, leads us, teaches us. He teaches us the way He chooses. He will lead us in His Will. Many people end up in disaster because they are self dependent or dependent upon others. But when God leads us we do not have the fear of wrong decsions or failure because He knows what is best for us and grants us accordingly. His Ways are higher than ours and His Plans the best which is greater than that of man's.
2. Psalms 25:13 (a): He himself shall dwell in prosperity.
The man who fears God is a prosperous man. He shall not lack any good thing. He will be prosperous in everything that he does. When God is our Leader we have everything that we need. He is gonna make His ways prosperous.
3. Psalms 25:13 (b): His descendants shall inherit the earth.
Psalms 112 also speaks about wonderful promises to the descendants of those who fear God. It talks about the blessings of the generation of those who fear God. Their descendants shall be mighty. The blessings of those fear God also flows into their descendants. Wealth and riches will be their inheritance.
4. Psalms 25:14 (a): The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him.
We have the access to the Heart of God. We may not have access or know what is in the heart of other people but we have access to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He reveals us His deep things. He wants us to know His Will. It can only happen when we could understand His Heart.
5. Psalms 25:14 (b): He will show them His Covenant
It is a wonderful thing to know the things of God. As humans we are more interested to know what is happening in someone else's house or life. We are too least interested to understand the things of God. To understand the Covenant of God is a wonderful thing. We need to long for the things of God. We need to seek Him for His Covenant. The Covenant reveals the unwavering Promises whiich He has for each of us. He does not change. He does not waver.
Let us inculcate the habit of fearing God and walk towards it so that we might see His Mighty Hand upon us all the time. God bless you abundantly !
