INTRODUCTION

In John 8:12, Jesus made a profound declaration about His identity and mission: He is the Light of the World. This statement conveys both His divine nature and His role in providing direction, clarity, and hope to a world engulfed in spiritual darkness. Humanity, left to itself, often walks in confusion, deception, and despair, but Jesus promises to illuminate the path toward truth and eternal life.

Light is a universal symbol of knowledge, guidance, and life. When Jesus refers to Himself as the Light, He assures His followers that through Him, ignorance, fear, and sin are dispelled. Spiritual darkness cannot coexist with the presence of Christ, and His light reveals the way to righteousness and salvation.

This declaration challenges believers to actively follow Him. Following Jesus means walking in His light, embracing His truth, and allowing His presence to guide every step. Those who heed this call will not stumble but will experience life, purpose, and divine clarity.
