Summary: The stability of a building depends upon its foundation. If the foundation is not right it could be detrimental to the entire building and also chances of disaster. It is very important to understand that it applies the same with respect to our spiritual lives.

Foundation plays a vital role in the stability of any structure. If the foundation is not strong enough there would be chances of disaster and damage to the entire structure. The same applies to our spiritual lives as well. If we are not founded on the right foundation we may end up being unstable and also gradually fall back. That is why it is important to know that as a Child of God we have a mandate to re check and re examine so as to ascertain the stability of our lives.

A few characters from the Bible come to my mind which can be good examples for us to inculcate the values so as to be affirmative on our spiritual perspective. In 2 Chronicles 24, it is spoken of a king called Joash. He was seven years old when he was made the king. In 2 Chronicles 24:2, it is said that Joash did everything that was right in the sight of God all the days of Jehoida the Priest. There is something that needs detailed attention in the Scripture here. He did right in the sight of God which is a very amazing thing and worth noting but the Scripture also says that "all the days of Jehoida." It clearly indicates that there was a lot of contribution of Jehoida the Priest in the life of Joash the King. It is reasonably fair and there is no question about it. We need to have Godly people to give us Godly guidance and advice so that we could keep or lives in check. But something terrible happened. The walk of Joash in a right way was short lived. The moment Jehoida the Priest died there was a backside transformation in the life of Joash the Priest. 2 Chronicles 24:17 says that after the death of Jehoida, the king listened to the wrong advices of the leaders of Judah. The result is that he rebuilt the high places. He forsook God. The foundation of Joash was not God and His Word rather it was Jehoida the priest.

In 2 Chronicles 34 we read about Josiah who became a king while he was eight years old. As Joash was under Jehoida, Josiah also was under a priest called Hilkiah. He also did everything right in the sight of God. One day as he instructed the cleansing of the temple the Book of the law was found which was handed over to Shaphan the Secretary to be read. As it was being read the Bible states that Josiah began to tear his robes and wept in the presence of God. The reason behind that he did not find his life matching with that of God's Word. It was mentioned about him in the book of the law as read in 1 Kings 13:2. The Bible declares that the Lord was pleased with Josiah's humility and blessed him abundantly. The foundation of Josiah was not Hikiah the priest unlke Joash but the Word of God and God Himself.

Let us recheck our lives. Many a times we place our foundation on men and women of God but God needs to be our priority. He needs to be the first of our lives. He deserves the best. It is good to introspect our lives and work on it so as to ensure we do not cause damage to our own self.We need to be founded upon God and His Word. If we feel we have our foundation on something else than God and His Word let us rectify our lives and set ourselves on God and His Word. The moment we do that we shall see ourselves grow strong and stable. Our built shall be unshaken.

God bless you abundantly !!!
