We live in a hope on the Word of God where we expect the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. The timing is unknown yet we wait in expectation. There are many things mentioned in the Word of God about His return but in Luke 17:26 the Lord Jesus said that as it was in the days of Noah so would it be when he comes back.
Why Noah? What is so special about Noah that Jesus had to utter his name? My mind goes back to the book of Genesis 6 wherein we see that God was grieved. He was in pain and also expressed why he had to create mankind while there was only sin on the face of the earth. God is a compassionate God, rich in love, full of mercy. He loves us with an everlasting love. When He was grieved He wanted to eradicate mankind from the face of the earth. At the same time he also wanted to save mankind by providing them a way out. That was when he saw Noah.
Genesis 6:8 says that Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Genesis 6:9 says that Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. What excites me is when people are testified by God. Isn't it amazing?
God expressed his pain to Noah. He also told him that he was about to kill every living being on the face of the earth. He gave Noah a mandate. I rather call it a dual responsibility of both building the Ark and preaching repentance to the people of God. It is said that Noah went and preached repentance and pleaded people to enter the Ark. For more than a century he did what he was asked to do but not a single soul repented. One day God asked him to enter the Ark with his children and relatives and with every pair of bird and animals. It is also mentioned that after Noah was entered the Ark God shut him in. That which the Lord shuts no Man can open and that which the Lord opens no man can shut. God began to send rain. For forty days and nights it rained that every living being on the face of the earth died except Noah and every living being in the Ark. Sometimes it doesn't not make sense when God asks us to do something but all that matters is obedience.
My Prayer is that we shall remain obedient to the call of God even though it does make sense eltoniur human mind. Obedience leads to Life.
God bless you abundantly !!!
