Philippians 2:8 says,
“He became obedient unto death — even the death of the cross.”
Jesus showed us perfect obedience. If He obeyed the Father completely, how much more should we?
Obedience must be intentional — we must choose to obey.
Obedience must be immediate — delayed obedience is disobedience.
Obedience must be all-inclusive — not partial, but 100%.
Because 99.9% obedience is still disobedience.
Obedience invites God’s blessings.
Obedience gives power to prayer.
Obedience brings peace to our lives.
Let me share a short story.
A boy was trekking down a mountain when it became very dark. He slipped and fell but caught hold of a branch. Hanging there, he cried out for help. Finally, he heard a soft voice say, “I am God. I will help you. Let go of the branch.”
But the boy refused. He held on tightly all night. By morning, he was dead. The villagers found that the branch was only two feet above the ground.
If only he had obeyed the voice, he would have lived.
Sometimes we hold on to fear, control, or our own understanding. God says, “Let go. Trust Me.” But we hesitate.
Obedience may feel risky — but it saves.
Obedience may feel costly — but it blesses.
Today, let us obey God completely, immediately, and intentionally.
Have a blessed day.
Amen.
