SECURING DIVINE HELP THROUGH BROKENNESS AND REPENTANCE

INTRODUCTION:
Brokenness and repentance are not signs of weakness but of spiritual maturity. A heart that is broken before God is a heart that is sensitive to His voice, humble under His authority, and ready for divine guidance. Many believers desire miracles, breakthroughs, and divine help, yet remain blocked because they resist humility and fail to genuinely repent from sin.
Repentance is more than an apology; it is a conscious turning away from sin, pride, and self-reliance toward God’s will and righteousness. When a believer embraces brokenness, God is able to work powerfully, restoring lost favour, opening closed doors, and positioning the individual for supernatural breakthroughs. Without brokenness, the flow of divine help is limited and inconsistent.
God honours those who acknowledge their failures, confess their sins, and adopt a posture of humility. Brokenness softens the heart, preparing it for obedience and responsiveness to the Holy Spirit. Repentance dissolves spiritual barriers, renews intimacy with God, and invites favour and supernatural intervention into every area of life.
1. BROKENNESS RESTORES ACCESS TO GOD
Brokenness is the spiritual key that opens doors to divine presence. A contrite and humble heart positions a believer to receive mercy, favour, and guidance.

Repentance actively removes obstacles that hinder divine help. Turning from sin and wrong choices positions a believer for supernatural favour and breakthrough.

Confession and turning from sin reconnect the believer to God, enabling the flow of His blessings and guidance.

God responds to those who genuinely repent, releasing mercy, favour, and healing into their lives.

3. BROKENNESS AND REPENTANCE SUSTAIN DIVINE HELP
Consistently cultivating brokenness and repentance ensures continued access to God’s favour and supernatural provision.
a) Regular Self-Examination Maintains Humility — Lamentations 3:40
Periodic reflection and confession keep the believer sensitive to God and aligned with His will.
b) Confession Prevents Spiritual Oppression — Proverbs 28:13
Hiding sin allows the enemy to gain advantage, while confession restores freedom and divine protection.

A contrite heart leads to consistent obedience, which in turn sustains supernatural help.

God honours the humble and those who continuously align themselves with His ways, ensuring divine intervention.

4. IGNORING BROKENNESS AND REPENTANCE LIMITS DIVINE HELP
Pride, stubbornness, and unrepented sin block access to God’s power. Those who neglect brokenness experience delayed breakthroughs and spiritual frustration.
a) Pride Blocks Supernatural Breakthroughs — Proverbs 16:5
A proud heart resists God’s touch and delays the manifestation of favour.
b) Unrepented Sin Invites Spiritual Attacks — 1 Peter 5:8
Sin left unchecked opens doors to the enemy, resulting in setbacks, oppression, and lost opportunities.
c) Lack of Brokenness Leads to Shallow Spiritual Life — Psalm 51:10
Without humility, the believer remains spiritually dry and disconnected from God’s fullness.

God resists those who persist in sin, limiting supernatural help and blessing.
Biblical Example: King Saul’s refusal to repent resulted in the permanent loss of God’s favour and eventual downfall (1 Samuel 15:22-23).
