1. SPIRITUAL PROSPERITY

3 JOHN 2

" Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. "

1 John 1 : 5 - 10

5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.

6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

MATTHEW 22 : 37 - 40

" Jesus replied: " ’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’

This is the first and greatest commandment.

And the second is like it: ’Love your neighbor as yourself.’

All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

GALATIANS 5 : 19 -23

The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;

idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions

and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

ROMANS 8 : 29

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

2. PHYSICAL PROSPERITY

Psalm 103 : 3 – 5

3. who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,

4. who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,

5.who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Matthew 8 : 16 - 17

16 When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.

17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:

“He took up our infirmities

and bore our diseases.”

Matthew 4 : 23 - 24

23. Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.

24. News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed them.

Exodus 15 : 26

26 He said, “If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”

Mark 16 : 17 - 18

17. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;

18. they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

James 5 : 14 - 15

14. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.

15. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.

Acts 19 : 11 - 12

11. God did extraordinary miracles through Paul,

12. so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.

Psalm 107 : 20

20. He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.

3. MATERIAL PROSPERITY

3 John 2

2. Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.

PHILIPPIANS 4 : 19

19. And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 6 : 31- 33

31. So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

32. For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

33. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Mark 10 : 28 - 30

28. Then Peter spoke up, “We have left everything to follow you!”

29. “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel

30.will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life.

Deuteronomy 28 : 11 - 12

11. The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you.

12. The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.

John 2 : 1 - 11

1. On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there,

2. and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.

3. When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”

4. “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.”

5. His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

6. Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.

7. Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim.

8. Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.”

They did so,

9. and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside

10. and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”

11. What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

1 Kings 17 : 7 - 16

7. Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land.

8. Then the word of the Lord came to him:

9. “Go at once to Zarephath in the region of Sidon and stay there. I have directed a widow there to supply you with food.”

10. So he went to Zarephath. When he came to the town gate, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her and asked, “Would you bring me a little water in a jar so I may have a drink?”

11. As she was going to get it, he called, “And bring me, please, a piece of bread.”

12. “As surely as the Lord your God lives,” she replied, “I don’t have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die.”

13. Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son.

14. For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord sends rain on the land.’”

15. She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family.

16. For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the Lord spoken by Elijah.

Luke 22 : 35

35. Then Jesus asked them, “When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?”

“Nothing,” they answered.

Deuteronomy 8 : 2 - 4

2. Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.

3. He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.

4.Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years.

John 6 : 5 - 13

5. When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?”

6. He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.

7. Philip answered him, “It would take more than half a year’s wages[a] to buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!”

8. Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up,

9. “Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?”

10. Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down (about five thousand men were there).

11. Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish.

12. When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.”

13. So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.

4. EMOTIONAL PROSPERITY

Psalm 147 : 3

3 He heals the brokenhearted

and binds up their wounds.

Isaiah 66 : 13

13 As a mother comforts her child,

so will I comfort you;

and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.”

Matthew 5 : 4

4 Blessed are those who mourn,

for they will be comforted.

2 Corinthians 1 : 3 - 4

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,

4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

Isaiah 61: 1 - 3

1 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,

because the Lord has anointed me

to proclaim good news to the poor.

He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,

to proclaim freedom for the captives

and release from darkness for the prisoners,

2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor

and the day of vengeance of our God,

to comfort all who mourn,

3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—

to bestow on them a crown of beauty

instead of ashes,

the oil of joy

instead of mourning,

and a garment of praise

instead of a spirit of despair.

They will be called oaks of righteousness,

a planting of the Lord

for the display of his splendor.

Acts 9 : 31

31 Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.

John 16 : 7 , 20

7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

20 Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.

Ephesians 4 : 30 - 32

30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.

32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Psalm 71: 20 - 21

20 Though you have made me see troubles,

many and bitter,

you will restore my life again;

from the depths of the earth

you will again bring me up.

21 You will increase my honor

and comfort me once more.

Genesis 41 : 50 - 52

50 Before the years of famine came, two sons were born to Joseph by Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On.

51 Joseph named his firstborn Manasseh and said, “It is because God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father’s household.”

52 The second son he named Ephraim and said, “It is because God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering.”

Job 42 : 10 - 13

10 After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.

11 All his brothers and sisters and everyone who had known him before came and ate with him in his house. They comforted and consoled him over all the trouble the Lord had brought on him, and each one gave him a piece of silver[a] and a gold ring.

12 The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand donkeys.

13 And he also had seven sons and three daughters.

Psalm 119 : 49 - 52

49 Remember your word to your servant,

for you have given me hope.

50 My comfort in my suffering is this:

Your promise preserves my life.

51 The arrogant mock me unmercifully,

but I do not turn from your law.

52 I remember, Lord, your ancient laws,

and I find comfort in them.

Psalm 86 : 17

17 Give me a sign of your goodness,

that my enemies may see it and be put to shame,

for you, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.

Psalm 94 : 19

19 When anxiety was great within me,

your consolation brought me joy.

2 Corinthians 7: 4 - 7

4 I have spoken to you with great frankness; I take great pride in you. I am greatly encouraged; in all our troubles my joy knows no bounds.

5 For when we came into Macedonia, we had no rest, but we were harassed at every turn—conflicts on the outside, fears within.

6 But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus,

7 and not only by his coming but also by the comfort you had given him. He told us about your longing for me, your deep sorrow, your ardent concern for me, so that my joy was greater than ever.

Genesis 24 : 67

67 Isaac brought her into the tent of his mother Sarah, and he married Rebekah. So she became his wife, and he loved her; and Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.

Genesis 50 : 15 - 21

15 When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “What if Joseph holds a grudge against us and pays us back for all the wrongs we did to him?”

16 So they sent word to Joseph, saying, “Your father left these instructions before he died:

17 ‘This is what you are to say to Joseph: I ask you to forgive your brothers the sins and the wrongs they committed in treating you so badly.’ Now please forgive the sins of the servants of the God of your father.” When their message came to him, Joseph wept.

18 His brothers then came and threw themselves down before him. “We are your slaves,” they said.

19 But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God?

20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

21 So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.” And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them.

1 Thessalonians 4 : 13 - 18

13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.

14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.

16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

5. SOCIAL PROSPERITY

Deuteronomy 28 : 13 - 14

13 The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.

14 Do not turn aside from any of the commands I give you today, to the right or to the left, following other gods and serving them.

Genesis 12 : 1 - 3

1. The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.

2. “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.

3. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

2 Samuel 7 : 8 - 9

8. “Now then, tell my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, and appointed you ruler over my people Israel.

9. I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men on earth.

Psalm 113 : 7 - 8

7. He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap;

8. he seats them with princes, with the princes of his people.

Psalm 75 : 4 - 7

4 To the arrogant I say, ‘Boast no more,’

and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horns.

5 Do not lift your horns against heaven;

do not speak so defiantly.’”

6 No one from the east or the west

or from the desert can exalt themselves.

7 It is God who judges:

He brings one down, he exalts another.

Luke 18 : 14

14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

1 Peter 5 : 6

6. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

6. LEGAL PROSPERITY

Psalm 103 : 6

6. The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.

1 Kings 8 : 57 - 60

57. May the Lord our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us nor forsake us.

58. May he turn our hearts to him, to walk in obedience to him and keep the commands, decrees and laws he gave our ancestors.

59. And may these words of mine, which I have prayed before the Lord, be near to the Lord our God day and night, that he may uphold the cause of his servant and the cause of his people Israel according to each day’s need,

60. so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the Lord is God and that there is no other.

Jeremiah 9 : 23 - 24

23. This is what the Lord says: “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches,

24. but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me,

that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.

Job 5 : 8 - 16

8 “But if I were you, I would appeal to God;

I would lay my cause before him.

9 He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed,

miracles that cannot be counted.

10 He provides rain for the earth;

he sends water on the countryside.

11 The lowly he sets on high,

and those who mourn are lifted to safety.

12 He thwarts the plans of the crafty,

so that their hands achieve no success.

13 He catches the wise in their craftiness,

and the schemes of the wily are swept away.

14 Darkness comes upon them in the daytime;

at noon they grope as in the night.

15 He saves the needy from the sword in their mouth;

he saves them from the clutches of the powerful.

16 So the poor have hope,

and injustice shuts its mouth.

Psalm 37 :1 - 6

1. Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong;

2. for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away.

3. Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

4. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this:

6. He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.

Psalm 58 : 10 - 11

10. The righteous will be glad when they are avenged, when they dip their feet in the blood of the wicked.

11. Then people will say, “Surely the righteous still are rewarded; surely there is a God who judges the earth.”

Romans 12 : 19 - 21

19. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

20. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

21. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

1 Peter 2 : 23

23. When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.

Luke 18 : 1 - 8

1. Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

2. He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought.

3. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’

4. “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think,

5. yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’”

6. And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says.

7. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?

8. I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

7. ETERNAL PROSPERITY

Matthew 6 : 19 - 21

19. “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.

20. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 5 : 10 - 12

10. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11. “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.

12. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Romans 8 : 17 - 18

17. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

18. I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

Matthew 6 : 1 - 4

1. “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

2. “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.

3. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

4. so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Luke 14 : 12 - 14

12. Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid.

13. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind,

14. and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

1 Timothy 6 : 17 - 19

17. Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.

18. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.

19. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.

Matthew 10 : 41 - 42

41. Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward.

42. And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.”
