Psalm 126 : 5 - 6

5. Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy.

6. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow,

will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.

1 Samuel 1 : 10 - 20

10. In her deep anguish Hannah prayed to the Lord, weeping bitterly.

11. And she made a vow, saying, “Lord Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the Lord for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head.”

12. As she kept on praying to the Lord, Eli observed her mouth.

13. Hannah was praying in her heart, and her lips were moving but her voice was not heard. Eli thought she was drunk

14. and said to her, “How long are you going to stay drunk? Put away your wine.”

15. “Not so, my lord,” Hannah replied, “I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the Lord.

16. Do not take your servant for a wicked woman; I have been praying here out of my great anguish and grief.”

17. Eli answered, “Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you have asked of him.”

18. She said, “May your servant find favor in your eyes.” Then she went her way and ate something, and her face was no longer downcast.

19. Early the next morning they arose and worshiped before the Lord and then went back to their home at Ramah. Elkanah made love to his wife Hannah, and the Lord remembered her.

20. So in the course of time Hannah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel,[b] saying, “Because I asked the Lord for him.”

1 Chronicles 4 : 9 - 10

9. Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.”

3. Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed.

4. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.

5. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow.

6. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.

7. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants.

8. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.

18. “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means:

19. When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path.

20. The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy.

21. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.

22. The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful.

23. But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

38. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

34. “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.

35. Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.

36. Even now the one who reaps draws a wage and harvests a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together.

37. Thus the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true.

38. sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor.”

12. For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,

13. for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

14. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

15. And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

16. But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?”

17. Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.

Acts 5 : 42

42. Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.

14. Nevertheless, more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number.

Acts 6 : 7

7. So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.

Acts 16 : 5

5. So the churches were strengthened in the faith and grew daily in numbers.

Acts 9 : 31

31. Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.

Acts 2 : 41, 46 - 47

41. Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

46. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,

47. praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Acts 4 : 4

4. But many who heard the message believed; so the number of men who believed grew to about five thousand.

Acts 13 : 44, 48, 49

44. On the next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord.

48. When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.

49. The word of the Lord spread through the whole region.

Matthew 28 : 18 - 20

18. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

19. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

20. and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Mark 16 : 15 - 20

15. He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

16. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

17. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;

18. they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

19. After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.

20. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

Matthew 24 : 14

14. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Ezekiel 33 : 7-9

7. “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.

8. When I say to the wicked, ‘You wicked person, you will surely die,’ and you do not speak out to dissuade them from their ways, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.

9. But if you do warn the wicked person to turn from their ways and they do not do so, they will die for their sin, though you yourself will be saved.

Matthew 10 : 32 - 33

32. “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.

33. But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.
