INTRODUCTION:
Holiness and righteousness are not optional virtues in the Christian faith; they are divine requirements for sustained fellowship with God. While salvation is by grace, access to divine help is preserved through holy living. God is holy, and His help flows most freely to those who deliberately align their lives with His nature and standards.
Many believers desire divine intervention but overlook the spiritual condition of their lives. Sin erects barriers between God and man, weakening spiritual authority and limiting access to God’s help. Holiness, however, clears the channel of divine communication and attracts heaven’s backing.
This message teaches that holiness and righteous living are not burdens but spiritual advantages. When believers choose purity, integrity, and obedience, they position themselves to experience divine help that others struggle to access.
1. HOLINESS CREATES UNHINDERED ACCESS TO GOD
God’s help flows through intimate fellowship, and holiness sustains that access.
Holiness is the spiritual environment where God reveals Himself and releases His power.
a) Holiness grants access to God’s presence (Psalm 24:3-4)
Only those with clean hands and pure hearts can stand confidently before God.
b) Sin disrupts divine communication (Isaiah 59:1-2)
Iniquity creates separation that blocks divine response.
c) Holiness sharpens spiritual sensitivity (Matthew 5:8)
The pure in heart enjoy clarity and divine direction.
d) Holiness preserves spiritual authority (Acts 19:13-16)
Authority flows from genuine relationship, not religious activity.
Biblical Example:
Enoch — He walked with God in holiness and enjoyed divine fellowship until God took him (Genesis 5:22-24).
2. RIGHTEOUS LIVING ATTRACTS DIVINE HELP AND FAVOUR
Righteousness positions believers for divine backing in all areas of life.
God defends, promotes, and supports those who walk uprightly.
a) Righteousness exalts and preserves destiny (Proverbs 14:34)
God honours nations and individuals who live rightly.
b) Righteous living provokes divine defence (Psalm 34:15)
God’s eyes are upon the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.
c) Righteousness secures divine favour (Psalm 5:12)
God surrounds the righteous with favour as a shield.
d) Upright living commands divine endorsement (Job 1:8)
God publicly testifies on behalf of the righteous.
Biblical Example:
Job — His righteous lifestyle attracted divine attention and eventual restoration (Job 1:1; 42:10).
3. HOLINESS IS A REQUIREMENT FOR DIVINE HELP IN BATTLES
Spiritual victory is sustained by moral integrity.
God does not empower impurity to defeat evil.
a) Holiness strengthens spiritual warfare capacity (Ephesians 6:13-14)
Righteousness is a vital part of spiritual armour.
b) Sin weakens spiritual resistance (Joshua 7:10-12)
Hidden sin can cause defeat in open battles.
c) Holiness invites divine intervention (2 Chronicles 7:14)
Repentance and righteousness restore God’s help.
d) A holy life frustrates satanic operations (James 4:7)
Submission to God empowers resistance against the devil.
Biblical Example:
Joshua and Israel at Ai — Victory was restored only after sin was addressed (Joshua 7–8).
4. HOLINESS AND RIGHTEOUSNESS SUSTAIN DIVINE HELP
Receiving divine help is one thing; sustaining it requires consistency.
God entrusts lasting help to disciplined lives.
a) Holiness preserves divine blessings (2 Timothy 2:20–21)
God uses and honours vessels that are purified.
b) Consistent righteousness prevents spiritual decline (Galatians 6:9)
Endurance in right living secures lasting results.
c) Holy living builds spiritual credibility (1 Peter 2:12)
God is glorified through righteous conduct.
d) Righteousness prepares believers for greater assignments (Luke 16:10)
Faithfulness in character qualifies for increase.
Biblical Example:
Daniel — His holy and righteous lifestyle sustained divine help throughout his lifetime (Daniel 6:4-5, 22).
CONCLUSION:
Holiness and righteous living are divine pathways to sustained help from God. They are not religious restrictions but spiritual keys that preserve intimacy with God and unlock supernatural intervention. Where holiness reigns, divine help flows freely.
May you receive grace to walk in holiness and experience the fullness of divine help prepared for you by God.
