Summary: The best way to end the year is with gratitude and thanksgiving, not minding what happens and what never happened.

A GLORIOUS ENDING

Study Text: Ecclesiastes 7:8

Introduction:

- The end of a matter is a powerful moment in the calendar of God.

- Many started this year with expectations; some faced battles, losses, delays, and surprises.

- Yet we stand here today: not buried, not broken, not silenced, but thankful.

- Thanksgiving is proof that God was present all through the journey. Today, we celebrate not just survival, but a glorious ending.

- There are three things to note about a glorious ending:

1. A Glorious Ending Reveals God's Preservation

2. A Glorious Ending Redeems Great Problems

3. A Glorious Ending Releases God's Praises

1. A Glorious Ending Reveals God's Preservation

(Lamentations 3:22–23; Psalm 103:1–5)

- You are alive today because God kept you. You are standing because the mercy of God spoke for you. You are rejoicing because the grace of God prevailed.

- Thanksgiving reminds us that:

- God was faithful when men failed

- God preserved us from seen and unseen dangers

- God sustained us through the storms we never announced

- Before asking God for a new beginning, acknowledge Him for a faithful ending. Gratitude qualifies you for greater glory.

2. A Glorious Ending Redeems Great Problems

(Job 42:10–12; Genesis 50:20)

- Not every chapter of this year was pleasant, but God specializes in turning pain into praise.

- Joseph ended in the palace after the pit.

- Job ended in double after loss.

- Naomi ended in joy after bitterness

- What looked like delay was divine arrangement.

- What felt like loss was God clearing the way.

“Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.” — Job 8:7

- God does not judge your year by the battles you fought, but by the victory He gives at the end.

3. A Glorious Ending Releases God's Praises

(Psalm 126:1–3; Habakkuk 3:17–19)

- Thanksgiving is a spiritual weapon.

- When you praise God at the end of a season:

- You silence the voice of regret

- You close the year without bitterness

- You open the next year with authority

- Even if some prayers are still pending, you thank God because He is not finished yet.

- How you end determines how you enter. A thankful ending creates:

- A confident entry into the new year

- Fresh oil for the next phase

- Divine speed and open doors

- At Ultimate Power Gospel Assembly, we do not stagger into the future, we advance with praise.

Conclusion:

- This is not the end of your story—this is the crowning of God’s goodness in this season.

- What the enemy meant for shame, God has turned to thanksgiving.

- As you give thanks today:

- Every unfinished battle is handed over to God.

- Every delay is swallowed by divine acceleration.

- Every sorrow is exchanged for joy.

Lift your hands and declare:

- I end this year in praise and not in pain.

- My latter end is glorious by the hand of the Lord.

- Every remaining good thing assigned to this year locates me now.

- I cross into the new year with thanksgiving, favour, and power.

- The God who kept me will perfect all that concerns me.

- So shall it be, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
