INTRODUCTION
Throughout Scripture, God delights in turning men and women into living proofs of His power. A “wonder” is not merely someone admired, but someone whose life cannot be explained without acknowledging divine intervention. When God steps into a person’s story, He alters the narrative so profoundly that observers are left astonished.
Many believers begin life in obscurity, rejection, or limitation, yet God often uses those same places of weakness as platforms for showcasing His glory. The transforming hand of God elevates His people beyond natural explanation and human expectation.
This message reveals that becoming a wonder is not the result of human effort alone, but the product of divine choice, covenant favour, and obedient alignment with God’s purpose. When God makes you a wonder, your life becomes a sermon to your generation.
1. GOD MAKES YOU A WONDER BY HIS DIVINE CHOICE
Becoming a wonder begins with God’s sovereign decision to reveal Himself through a person.
God selects vessels according to His purpose, not human qualification, so that all glory returns to Him.
a) God chooses the unlikely to display His glory. (1 Corinthians 1:27)
God often bypasses human logic, selecting those considered weak so that His power may be unmistakably evident.
b) Divine election precedes public manifestation. (Jeremiah 1:5)
Before anyone sees the wonder, God has already marked the individual for distinction.
c) God’s choice overrides background and limitations
(Judges 6:15-16). Natural disadvantages cannot cancel divine selection.
d) Divine choice positions you for uncommon outcomes. (Deuteronomy 7:6)
When God chooses you, your life is separated for honour.
Biblical Example:
David was an overlooked shepherd boy, yet God chose him and raised him to a point where Israel marvelled at his exploits (1 Samuel 16-18).
2. GOD MAKES YOU A WONDER THROUGH SUPERNATURAL TRANSFORMATION
Wonders are born when God changes the substance and direction of a person’s life.
Transformation is the evidence that God has intervened decisively.
a) God turns captivity into amazement. (Psalm 126:1-3)
When God restores, even the beneficiary struggles to believe the outcome.
b) Divine transformation attracts public attention. (Acts 3:9-10)
People notice undeniable change when God intervenes.
c) God replaces shame with celebration. (Isaiah 61:7)
What once caused reproach becomes a testimony of honour.
d) Transformation silences mockery. (Isaiah 29:19)
God’s work in your life answers critics without words.
Biblical Example:
The lame man at the Beautiful Gate became a public wonder as he walked, leaped, and praised God before everyone who once knew him as helpless (Acts 3:1-10).
3. GOD MAKES YOU A WONDER BY DISTINGUISHING YOU
Distinction is one of God’s primary tools for making His people wonders.
When God distinguishes a person, comparison no longer applies.
a) God separates His people for visible favour. (Exodus 11:7)
Divine distinction makes it clear who is under God’s covering.
b) Obedience provokes uncommon elevation. (Deuteronomy 28:1-2)
God’s blessings attract attention when obedience aligns with covenant promises.
c) God’s favour creates visible difference. (Psalm 102:13)
Favour singles out a person in the midst of many.
d) God distinguishes to reveal His power. (Daniel 1:20)
Divine wisdom and excellence make God’s servants ten times better.
Biblical Example:
Daniel and the Hebrew boys stood out in Babylon, causing kings and rulers to marvel at the spirit of God upon them (Daniel 6:3).
4. GOD MAKES YOU A WONDER AS A SIGN TO YOUR GENERATION
Becoming a wonder is not for pride, but for purpose.
God makes lives into signs so that others may believe.
a) God turns people into living testimonies. (Isaiah 8:18)
Your life becomes evidence of God’s reality.
b) Wonders provoke divine curiosity. (Acts 4:13)
People begin to ask questions when they see God in action.
c) Signs point others to God’s faithfulness. (Zechariah 3:8)
A wonder is a message, not an accident.
d) God’s wonders inspire faith in others. (John 20:30-31)
Testimonies draw many into believing God.
Biblical Example:
The disciples, once ordinary fishermen, became wonders as their boldness made people recognise that they had been with Jesus (Acts 4:13).
CONCLUSION
God has not called you to live an invisible or defeated life. He desires to reveal His glory through you so clearly that many will marvel and acknowledge His hand upon your life. When God steps in, your life becomes a divine statement that cannot be ignored.
As you walk in obedience, faith, and alignment with God’s will, He will intentionally place you on a platform where His power is displayed. You will not strive to be noticed; God Himself will announce you as a wonder to many.
