Some truths must be approached quietly…
not because they are fragile,
but because we are.
Some truths cannot be slammed on the table.
They must be opened slowly,
like a gift you weren’t expecting
but desperately needed.
Some truths do not enter the mind by force.
They slip in through wonder.
Through worship.
Through the kind of curiosity that is born only when the heart feels safe.
And this is one of those truths.
Because there are topics believers think they already understand.
Subjects they assume must be dangerous.
Ideas they have been told to dismiss without examination.
And nothing closes a mind faster
than a heart that believes it is defending God.
So before we touch the name that opens the gates of Daniel and Revelation…
before we ask the question that rattles the foundations of the cosmic conflict…
before we speak the title whispered in heaven
and feared in hell…
We begin with Jesus.
Not controversy.
Not argument.
Not labels.
Not doctrines debated in comment sections.
Not theological trigger words.
Jesus.
The Jesus they already love.
The Jesus they already trust.
The Jesus they already worship.
The Jesus who holds the universe together with the word of His power.
We begin with Him.
And everything else unfolds from there.

I. WHEN YOU START WITH JESUS, EVERY HEART OPENS
So I ask a simple question:
Who is like God?
Not yet the name.
Not yet the title.
Not yet the concept.
Just the question.
And suddenly the air changes.
It is not a doctrinal debate anymore.
It is worship.
It is wonder.
It is the ancient cry of heaven.
Then I shift the focus where hearts feel safe:
Who is Jesus?
And every believer’s inner posture softens.
Because there is no fear in the presence of Christ.
So I ask:
Is Jesus eternal?
And they say — Yes.
Is Jesus YHWH, the I AM of the burning bush?
And they say — Yes.
Is Jesus the visible revelation of the invisible God?
And they say — Yes.
Does Jesus command the angels of heaven?
Of course.
Is Jesus worshiped by angels?
Always.
Does Jesus appear in the Old Testament?
And the curious ones lean forward.
Now the heart is open.
The mind is receptive.
The ground is holy.
And the fear has vanished.
Because we are talking about Him.
Only Him.
Always Him.

II. THE STORY THAT OPENS EVERY MIND
Then I take them to Joshua 5.
Not Daniel.
Not Revelation.
Not Jude.
A safe place.
A familiar place.
A place with no theological landmines.
A place every Christian respects.
Joshua is alone.
The night is still.
Jericho stands like a fortress of arrogance before God.
And suddenly—
A Man stands before him
with a drawn sword.
Joshua, the soldier, steps forward.
“Are You for us or for our enemies?”
The answer does not fit inside human categories:
“No. But as Commander of the LORD’s army, I have now come.”
Stop.
Just stop.
Let the weight of that sink in.
Then the text reveals three things only one Being in the universe can claim:
Joshua falls face-down in worship.
And the Commander receives it.
Joshua is told to remove his shoes.
Because the ground is holy.
And the One speaking bears the authority of YHWH Himself.
This is not Gabriel.
Not Michael as a creature.
Not an ordinary messenger.
This is the Son of God
before Bethlehem.
Before shepherds.
Before swaddling clothes.
This is the Christ who stands revealed as the Captain of heaven’s armies.
Now I ask—not to teach, but to invite:
Who is this Commander?
Who receives worship?
Who declares ground holy?
Who stands in the place of God?
Their eyes begin to widen.
Not in fear.
In wonder.

III. A QUESTION THAT GENTLY UNLOCKS THE HEART
Then I ask the question that makes the walls fall gently:
“If Jesus appears in the Old Testament,
what name does He use?”
And you can feel it.
The shift in the room.
The release of pressure.
The mind opening.
No one argues with this.
No one resists.
No one feels threatened.
Because we are not giving an answer.
We are opening a window.
If Jesus is the Commander,
does Scripture ever give the Commander a title?”
Their mind begins searching Scripture…
connecting stories they never connected…
not because they were told,
but because they are discovering.
And discovery always opens the spirit.

IV. BUILDING CURIOSITY WITH THEIR OWN BELIEFS
Before I ever speak the name Michael,
I take them deeper into what they already know:
Who commanded angels at the resurrection?
Jesus.
Who confronted Satan to His face in the wilderness?
Jesus.
Who is the Warrior-King of Revelation 19?
Jesus.
Whose voice raises the dead?
Jesus.
Who stands for God’s people in the time of trouble?
Jesus.
Who leads heaven’s armies?
Jesus.
Now their heart is saying it before their lips do:
“Then who is like God?
Who holds this authority?
Who bears this glory?
Who stands in this role?”
And then…
only then…
when their mind is open
and their spirit is settled
and their curiosity is alive…
I speak the name softly.
Michael — the name that means
‘Who is like God?’
And it is no longer frightening.
No longer controversial.
No longer confusing.
It is beautiful.
Majestic.
Christ-exalting.
A title that reveals—not reduces—His glory.

V. THE NAME THAT DECLARES A QUESTION
Before definition comes revelation:
Who is like God?
Not Babylon.
Not Persia.
Not Rome.
Not kings.
Not empires.
Not principalities.
Not human powers.
Not angels.
Not demons.
Not the dragon.
Jesus Christ—
the eternal Son of God.
Jesus—
the visible manifestation of YHWH.
Jesus—
the Word who was with God and was God.
Jesus—
the Captain of salvation.
Jesus—
the Commander of heaven’s armies.
Jesus—
the One whose voice raises the dead.
Jesus—
the One who crushes the serpent’s head.
Jesus—
the One who stands for His people.
Jesus—
the One who fights your battles.
Jesus—
the One who leads you, keeps you, saves you.
So let us answer the question today:
Who is like God?
Who stands in His glory?
Who reigns in His authority?
Who speaks life into the dead?
Who commands the armies of heaven?
Who defends the saints?
Who conquers the dragon?
Who triumphs forever?
There is only one answer.
There has always been one answer.
There will forever be one answer:
Jesus Christ—our Lord, our Savior, our God, our Captain, our Champion.
Who is like God?
He alone.

There is a place in every believer’s journey
where the Bible opens itself wider than we expected.
A place where the familiar becomes unfamiliar—
not because it changes,
but because we finally see what was always there.
We have opened the door.
Not with arguments.
Not with charts.
Not with doctrinal pressure.
But with Jesus—
the One every heart trusts,
the One every believer worships,
the One whose voice quiets every storm inside us.
And once Jesus stands at the center,
every difficult subject becomes safe to explore.
So now we turn the page.
Now we follow the Commander from story to story,
from battlefield to battlefield,
from revelation to revelation.

I. STEP INTO JOSHUA — WHERE THE SWORD APPEARS
Before we speak the name,
before we lift the title,
before we declare the meaning,
we begin with the place where every Christian feels at home:
Joshua.
The walls of Jericho loom ahead,
massive, immovable, arrogant.
Joshua walks alone,
bearing the weight of a nation,
feeling the strain of a conquest God has promised
but he cannot yet see.
And in that moment…
a Man stands before him
with a drawn sword.
Not a vision.
Not a dream.
Not an angelic whisper.
A Man.
Glorious.
Fearsome.
Radiant with authority.
Joshua asks the only question a soldier knows:
“Are You for us or for our enemies?”
And the answer does not fit into human categories:
“No.
But as Commander of the LORD’s army,
I have now come.”
Then something happens Scripture never allows to be mistaken:
Joshua falls to the ground
and worships.
And the Commander
receives it.
Not only that—
He speaks the same command God spoke to Moses at the burning bush:
“Take off your sandals,
for the place where you stand is holy.”
Holy ground.
Because of His presence.
This is not Gabriel.
Not Michael as a creature.
Not a created being.
Not an angelic subordinate.
This is the eternal Son of God
appearing before Bethlehem,
bearing the authority of YHWH,
standing as the Captain of the Lord’s armies.
A Commander with a sword.
A Savior with a plan.
A King with a name we have not yet spoken.

II. STEP INTO DANIEL — WHERE THE INVISIBLE WAR ERUPTS
Then we move to Daniel 10—
a chapter soaked in conflict,
full of spiritual resistance,
a battlefield behind the scenes of history.
Daniel prays.
He fasts.
He mourns.
But the answer is delayed—
not because heaven is slow,
but because darkness is fighting back.
A messenger finally arrives
and reveals the hidden reality:
“The prince of Persia resisted me twenty-one days.
But Michael, one of the chief princes,
came to help me.”
Not a weak angel.
Not a subordinate creature.
A title.
A role.
A position of command.
Michael appears where the battle is fiercest.
Michael arrives when the enemy presses hardest.
Michael steps in when the powers of darkness attempt to choke the prayers of God’s people.
This is not coincidence.
This is not confusion.
This is revelation.
But Daniel isn’t done.
Because then we reach Daniel 12—
one of the greatest declarations of power in all of Scripture.
It says:
“At that time Michael shall stand up…
And many who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake.”
Stop.
Let the weight fall.
When Michael stands,
the dead rise.
This is not the work of an angel.
This is the signature of God.
Jesus said:
“The dead will hear the voice of the Son of God…
and those who hear will live.”
(John 5:25)
Paul said:
“The Lord Himself will descend with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel…
and the dead in Christ will rise.”
(1 Thess. 4:16)
Daniel saw it.
Jesus taught it.
Paul confirmed it.
All three describe the same event—
the resurrection triggered by the voice of the One who is like God.
And Daniel calls Him Michael.
So now curiosity opens the door even wider.
If the Commander in Joshua appears with a sword…
If the Champion in Daniel appears to overthrow spiritual forces…
If the One who raises the dead stands up at the end of time…
Then the heart begins to whisper:
Who is this Michael?
What does this name mean?
What is God revealing?
This is the moment—
the holy moment—
when we insert the revelation.

? III. TRANSITION INTO THE NAME
But before we move forward,
before we open Jude,
before we step into Revelation,
we must pause…
Because sometimes the breakthrough does not come from a new text,
or a deeper argument,
or a stronger analysis.
Sometimes the breakthrough comes from realizing
that God placed a revelation
inside a single word.
A word we’ve repeated.
A word we’ve read.
A word we’ve never understood.
And that word…
is Michael.

? IV. MICHAEL — NOT A QUESTION, BUT A DECLARATION
There is a truth hidden in the name itself.
Most Christians think Michael is a question:
“Who is like God?”
But in Hebrew,
“who” statements are not always questions.
They are often victory declarations.
Like:
“Who is like You, O LORD?”
(Ex. 15:11)
“Who is like the LORD our God?”
(Ps. 113:5)
These are not questions.
They are proclamations.
They shout:
“No one is like God!”
So when Scripture uses the name Michael,
imagine not a timid inquiry,
but a thunderous declaration:
“No one is like God!”
Michael is not curiosity.
Michael is conquest.
Michael is not a question mark.
Michael is an exclamation point.
A battle cry.
A war banner.
A verbal sword.
A declaration that cuts through every lie of the dragon.
Michael = “No one is like God.”
Michael = “No one compares.”
Michael = “No one rivals.”
Michael = “No one stands in His place.”
This is why the dragon hates the name.
Because every time it is spoken on the battlefield,
it destroys his claims
and exalts the Son.
Michael is not a lesser name.
It is a louder name.
A stronger name.
A war-time name.
A title of the Commander who goes to war on behalf of His people.
The title Jesus bears
when He steps onto the battlefield of the great controversy.

V. STEP INTO JUDE — WHERE THE CONFRONTATION HAPPENS
Now we are ready for Jude.
Without the name explanation,
Jude is confusing.
With it,
Jude becomes explosive.
Jude writes:
“Michael the archangel…
disputed with the devil…”
(Jude 9)
But now you see it.
The One who raises the dead in Daniel 12…
The One who commands armies in Joshua…
The One who overthrows powers in Daniel 10…
The One whose name declares that no one is like God—
confronts the devil face to face.
This is not an angelic struggle.
This is divine authority.
This is the Commander appearing as He always has:
in battle.
in conflict.
in glory.

VI. STEP INTO REVELATION — WHERE THE WAR EXPLODES INTO VIEW
Finally we enter Revelation 12:
“Michael and his angels fought against the dragon…”
Now the story is complete.
The Warrior of Joshua.
The Champion of Daniel.
The Conqueror of Jude.
The Commander leads the armies of heaven
against the ancient serpent
and casts him down.
And Revelation 19 reveals the same Commander again—
this time riding the white horse,
His robe dipped in blood,
His name called Faithful and True,
the armies of heaven following Him.
Two visions.
Two names.
One identity.
The Commander of Joshua.
The Champion of Daniel.
The Warrior of Jude.
The Rider of Revelation.
The same Person.
The same power.
The same glory.
The same Commander—
whose battle title is Michael.

There is a moment in every message
when the truth stops being information
and becomes revelation.
A moment when Scripture is no longer a topic—
it becomes a Person.
A moment when doctrine stops feeling like a debate—
and starts feeling like deliverance.
A moment when the heart suddenly knows:
“This isn’t about angels at all.
This is about Jesus.”
And now we step into that moment.

I. THE DRAGON HAS ALWAYS FEARED ONE NAME
There is a reason the enemy loves confusion.
There is a reason the devil distorts Scripture.
There is a reason he wants believers arguing about words,
titles,
classifications,
and categories.
Because he knows something many Christians forget:
If you truly see Jesus as Commander,
every fear in your life will collapse.
Satan doesn’t fear your opinions.
He fears your revelation.
He fears you knowing who stands for you.
He fears you discovering the One who leads heaven’s armies.
He fears you recognizing the Champion who has already crushed his head.
So he throws dust in the air.
He tries to hide the battlefield.
He wants the church confused about the identity of the One
whose very presence makes the gates of hell shake.
But Scripture pulls the curtain aside.
The Word of God reveals what the enemy tries to conceal.
The dragon knows the truth:
There is One he cannot overthrow.
One he cannot deceive.
One he cannot intimidate.
One he cannot defeat.
The One whose name means:
“Who is like God?”
Not because He is questioning.
Because His very being answers the question.

II. THE GOD WHO FIGHTS FOR YOU
This message is not about speculation.
It is not about theological novelty.
It is not about esoteric doctrine.
It is not about intellectual curiosity.
It is about the character of God.
Because when Scripture shows us:
— Jesus confronting Satan
— Jesus commanding the angels
— Jesus receiving worship
— Jesus standing in holy ground
— Jesus raising the dead
— Jesus leading the armies of heaven
— Jesus standing for His people in the end of days
— Jesus breaking open graves
— Jesus conquering the dragon
…it is telling you something profound:
He fights for you.
He stands for you.
He goes before you.
He guards behind you.
He surrounds you with glory.
He carries you in battle.
He keeps you in the storm.
He defends you when the enemy lies.
He lifts you when you fall.
He restores you when you break.
He saves you when you cannot save yourself.
This is the heart of the message:
The One who is like God
is the One who is for you.
You do not fight alone.
You do not walk alone.
You do not pray alone.
You do not face temptation alone.
You do not wrestle with darkness alone.
You do not stand in judgment alone.
The Commander stands with you.
The Captain stands for you.
The Champion stands in your place.

III. THE BATTLE YOU SEE IS NOT THE BATTLE YOU ARE IN
You fight symptoms.
He fights sources.
You fight discouragement.
He fights the dragon.
You fight anxiety.
He fights the accuser.
You fight temptation.
He fights the tempter.
You fight shadows.
He fights the serpent.
And every time the enemy rises against you,
every time hell whispers in the dark,
every time fear shakes your confidence,
every time shame tries to chain your identity,
every time the accuser speaks condemnation over your soul—
The Commander steps forward with a voice
that darkness cannot withstand.
“Who is like God?”
And the powers of hell tremble.

IV. THE NAME THAT BREAKS THE GRAVE
There is a reason Daniel saw Michael stand up
at the very end of time.
There is a reason the resurrection is linked to His voice.
There is a reason Paul says the Lord Himself
will descend
with the voice of the archangel.
Not because Jesus is an angel—
but because Jesus is the One
to whom all angels bow.
And when He speaks,
death lets go.
The grave unlocks.
The stones roll.
The dust breathes.
The sleepers rise.
The silence breaks.
The earth shakes.
The sky fills.
Because the One who is like God
speaks with the authority of God.
When Jesus calls your name,
nothing can hold you.
Not sin.
Not shame.
Not chains.
Not guilt.
Not your past.
Not your failures.
Not death itself.
The Commander of heaven’s armies
will one day command your resurrection.
And the universe will answer His call.

V. THE COMFORT OF KNOWING WHO STANDS FOR YOU
Let this truth fall gently over your heart:
You have a Defender.
You have a Champion.
You have a Captain.
You have a Savior.
You are not lost in the crowd.
You are not forgotten in the struggle.
You are not unseen in your pain.
You are not unheard in your prayers.
The One whose name shakes heaven
and terrifies hell
knows your name.
The One who stands for nations
stands for you.
The One who commands angels
walks beside you.
The One whose voice awakens the dead
speaks life into your weary spirit.
He is not far.
He is not distant.
He is not hidden.
He is here.
Now.
Present.
Near.
With you.
For you.

VI. THE FINAL DECLARATION
So now we answer the ancient question one last time:
Who is like God?
Not the dragon.
Not Babylon.
Not Persia.
Not Greece.
Not Rome.
Not kings.
Not empires.
Not armies.
Not angels.
Not demons.
Not death.
Not darkness.
Only One.
Jesus Christ—
the visible image of the invisible God,
the eternal Word,
the Son before time,
the Commander before Bethlehem,
the Captain before Calvary,
the Champion after the empty tomb,
the Rider on the white horse,
the Leader of heaven’s armies,
the One who stands,
the One who saves,
the One who reigns.
His name answers the question.
His glory settles the argument.
His authority ends the debate.
His power seals the victory.
His presence breaks the chains.
His voice opens the graves.
Who is like God?
Jesus.
Only Jesus.
Always Jesus.
Forever Jesus.

Appeal:
Beloved, the battles you face are not fought alone.
The fears that haunt your nights,
the temptations that wear down your courage,
the accusations that whisper your name—
they are not met by your strength
or your willpower
or your ability.
You have a Commander.
You have a Champion.
You have a Captain who fights for you.
The One whose very name declares,
“No one is like God,”
is the One who stands with you even now.
If you need His strength today…
If you need His courage…
If you need His victory to become your victory…
If you need the Commander of heaven’s armies
to speak over your life again…
Then lift your heart to Him.
Surrender the battle into His hands.
Let the One whose voice will one day break open every grave
break open the fear inside your soul today.
Let Him fight for you.
Let Him stand with you.
Let Him save you.
Because when Jesus stands—
everything that stands against you
must fall.

Lord Jesus,
Commander of heaven’s armies,
Champion of our salvation,
the One whose name declares that no one is like God—
we come to You now.
Speak peace where there has been warfare.
Speak courage where there has been fear.
Speak freedom where there has been bondage.
Fight the battles we cannot fight.
Break the chains we cannot break.
Lift the burdens we cannot carry.
Stand for us, Lord—
as You stood for Joshua,
as You stood for Daniel,
as You stood against the dragon,
as You will one day stand to call the dead from the grave.
May Your victory become our victory.
Your strength our strength.
Your salvation our salvation.
We place our lives in Your hands,
and by Your grace,
we will stand with You
until the day You appear in glory.
In Your mighty name we pray,
