Summary: A message about overcoming worry in our daily life.

Good Morning

Grab your Bible and say this with me:

This is my Bible

I am what it says I am

I have what it says I have

I can do what it says I can do.

Today I will be taught more of the Word of God

I boldly confess

My mind is alert

My heart is receptive.

I will never be the same.

I am about to receive the incorruptible, indestructible, ever-living seed of the Word of God.

I will never be the same

I’ll never be the same,

In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

“Do Not Worry” – Matthew 6:25–34

Turn in your Bibles to Matthew 6 and say, "Amen" when you are there.

Church, today we are stepping into one of the most freeing teachings Jesus ever gave.

Not a suggestion.

Not a gentle encouragement.

But a command: “Do not worry.”

Let’s read the passage together—Matthew 6:25–34.

Jesus tells us three times:

Do not worry about your life

Do not worry about tomorrow

Your Heavenly Father knows what you need

Why does Jesus repeat Himself?

Because He knows us.

He knows the battles in our mind.

He knows how worry eats away at our peace, our sleep, our joy, and our spiritual strength.

And Jesus gives us the antidote:

“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Not some things.

All things.

1. Worry is a weight God never designed you to carry

Worry doesn’t change tomorrow—it only drains today.

Worry is like sitting in a rocking chair: a lot of movement but no progress.

Jesus didn’t say, “Try harder not to worry.”

He said, Look at the birds. Look at the flowers.

He shifts our focus.

Because what you look at determines what grows in your heart.

If you look at the problem—you grow fear.

If you look at Jesus—you grow faith.

2. Worry is rooted in forgetting who your Father is

Jesus said, “Your Father in heaven knows that you need all these things.”

Not a distant God.

Not a silent God.

Not a God who needs convincing.

A Father.

Your Father.

A Provider.

A Shepherd.

A Sustainer.

Worry shrinks when you remember who’s in charge.

3. Seeking the Kingdom unlocks supernatural provision

To “seek first the Kingdom” means we let God’s priorities become our priorities.

Transformation happens when:

We choose prayer over panic

Worship over worry

Trust over fear

Obedience over anxiety

Then Jesus says, “All these things”—your needs, your provision, your resources—“will be added.”

God doesn’t add stress.

He adds supply.

He adds peace.

He adds direction.

A man once shared that during a difficult season he had lost his job, bills were piling up, and fear was choking him every day.

One morning he prayed, “God, I can’t do this anymore. I’m giving You this worry.”

He opened his Bible to Matthew 6:26: “Look at the birds of the air…”

Just then, he heard birds singing outside.

He stepped outside frustrated—“How can they be so joyful when I’m struggling?”

But as he watched them, God whispered to his heart:

“David, the birds don’t store up savings accounts. They don’t build retirement plans. They don’t stress over tomorrow. They sing because they trust Me. If I care for them, I will care for you.”

That same week, a job opportunity opened unexpectedly—better than the one he had lost.

He said later, “The moment I surrendered the worry was the moment God stepped in.”

Church, God is still doing this today.

And today He wants to lift that weight off your shoulders too.

Let me ask you:

What are you worried about today?

What has been stealing your peace?

What did you cry about in secret?

What has kept you up at night?

Jesus is saying right now:

“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Not “I might.”

I will.

ALTAR CALL

If you are carrying worry…

If anxiety has become your companion…

If you need God’s peace to wash over you.

This altar is open.

Step out in faith right now.

Let today be the day you lay the burden down.

As you come, you are saying:

“God, I choose trust over worry. I choose faith over fear.”

Come now.

Let the Holy Spirit minister to you.

Let’s pray together:

Father, in the Name of Jesus,

We bring every burden, every worry, every fear before You.

You said in Your Word, ‘Do not be anxious,’ so we obey.

We cast our cares upon You because You care for us.

Break the spirit of worry off every heart right now.

Release supernatural peace.

Release divine provision.

Release clarity, strength, and renewed hope.

Teach us to seek first the Kingdom and trust You with the rest.

We surrender tomorrow into Your hands.

We choose faith.

We choose peace.

We choose Jesus.

In Jesus’ Name—Amen.

This week, every time worry tries to creep in, speak this aloud:

“My Father knows what I need.

I choose to trust Him.”

Church—you don’t walk out today the same way you walked in.

You walk out lighter.

Freer.

Stronger.

And covered in the peace of God that passes all understanding.

Amen.
