INTRODUCTION:
The phrase “God arises” is not just poetic language, it signifies the active intervention of God in the affairs of men. When God arises, He manifests His power, fights battles, brings deliverance, executes justice, and empowers His people to fulfil their destiny. Throughout the Bible, we see multiple instances where God’s arising led to dramatic changes, often turning impossible situations into testimonies of divine victory.
1. GOD’S ARISAL BRINGS VICTORY OVER ENEMIES
a) God Fights for His People: When God arises, He engages the enemies on behalf of His people. In Exodus 14, the Israelites were trapped between Pharaoh’s army and the Red Sea. They had no human solution, yet God arose, parting the waters and defeating the Egyptians.
Application: When God arises in your life, opposition, attacks, and conspiracies against you begin to crumble.
b) Scattering of Opponents: Psalm 68:1 demonstrates that God’s arising causes fear and confusion among those who oppose Him. The enemies scatter and flee, powerless against His might.
c) Spiritual Warfare Activated: God’s arising is also spiritual. Ephesians 6:12 shows that our battles are not just physical but spiritual. When God arises, He strengthens His children to stand firm against demonic forces.
d) Encouragement in Waiting: Exodus 14:14 assures us that even in apparent passivity, God fights when we wait and trust Him. Victory often comes not by human effort, but by God arising on our behalf.
Biblical Example: David against Goliath (1 Samuel 17): David faced a giant with just a sling. His confidence was not in his skill but in God arising for him. The victory was complete and demonstrated that God’s arising defeats giants in our lives.
2. GOD’S ARISAL BRINGS DELIVERANCE AND BREAKTHROUGH
a) Freedom from Bondage: God’s arising delivers people from captivity, sin, and oppression. The Israelites’ deliverance from Egypt (Exodus 14–15) is the ultimate illustration. God’s power split the sea and destroyed their captors.
b) Opening of New Doors: Isaiah 60:1 calls for us to “Arise, shine; for thy light is come.” When God arises, opportunities appear, and seemingly impossible breakthroughs happen.
c) Healing and Restoration: God’s arising also brings restoration of health, relationships, and provision. Consider the woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:25-34). Her faith met God’s arising, and she was healed instantly.
d) Transformation of Circumstances: When God arises, situations that are stagnant begin to move. Joseph, sold into slavery, eventually became prime minister of Egypt, demonstrating God’s arising in turning trials into triumphs.
Biblical Example: Daniel in the lions’ den (Daniel 6): Daniel’s life was at risk, yet God arose to shut the lions’ mouths. Deliverance came in the most impossible situation, leaving all observers in awe.
3. GOD’S ARISAL BRINGS JUDGMENT AND JUSTICE
a) Execution of Righteous Judgment: Psalm 82:8 declares that God judges the earth and executes justice. When God arises, injustice, corruption, and oppression are exposed and punished.
b) Overturning the Wicked: 2 Kings 19:35 recounts God striking 185,000 Assyrians in one night when they threatened Jerusalem. His arising brought instant justice against the oppressors.
c) Vindication of the Oppressed: God’s arising ensures that His people are vindicated. Job, though suffering unjustly, was eventually restored, showing that God arises to uphold the righteous.
d) Fear Among the Wicked: The arising of God instills fear in those who plot evil (Psalm 68:1). No scheme of the enemy can stand when God takes action.
Biblical Example: Elijah and the prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18:20–40): God arose dramatically on Mount Carmel, consuming the sacrifice with fire, exposing falsehood, and proving His supremacy.
4. GOD’S ARISAL BRINGS MANIFESTATION OF GLORY
a) Presence Transforms Atmosphere: God’s arising fills the place with His glory. Isaiah 6:1-3 describes Isaiah seeing God in His glory, transforming his perception of life and purpose.
b) Light Overcomes Darkness: When God arises, spiritual darkness is dispelled. Psalm 18:28 says, “For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.”
c) Inspiration and Encouragement: Witnessing God’s arising strengthens faith. Moses, Joshua, and others led with courage because God arose visibly in their history.
d) Spiritual Renewal: God’s arising restores hope and revives weary hearts (Psalm 68:19). His glory encourages the faithful to continue in His ways.
Biblical Example: Pentecost (Acts 2:1–4): When God arose in the form of the Holy Spirit, believers were empowered, spoke in tongues, and began to transform the world with boldness.
5. GOD’S ARISAL EMPOWERS FOR PURPOSE
a) Strength to Overcome Challenges: Psalm 29:11 shows that God gives strength when He arises. Leaders, prophets, and ordinary believers gain divine boldness and capacity.
b) Wisdom and Direction: God’s arising provides insight to navigate life. Joseph interpreted Pharaoh’s dream because God arose to give him wisdom.
c) Courage in the Face of Fear: When facing impossible odds, like Gideon with 300 men against Midian (Judges 7), God’s arising provided courage and strategy.
d) Prosperity and Progress: God’s arising is linked to elevation and success, as seen in the life of Daniel, Joseph, and Esther, who thrived in hostile environments.
Biblical Example: Esther and the salvation of her people (Esther 4-7): God arose through Esther’s bravery, wisdom, and prayer to deliver the Jews from destruction.
CONCLUSION:
When God arises, your enemies scatter, your oppressions are lifted, justice prevails, His glory manifests, and you are empowered to fulfil your divine purpose. The arising of God is not merely a spiritual experience; it is a demonstration of His active intervention in human affairs. Believers should seek His arising through prayer, faith, and obedience, knowing that when He moves, circumstances cannot remain the same.
