Grab your bible and say this with me
This is my Bible
I am what is says I am
I have what it says I have
I can do what it says I can do.
Today I will be taught more of the Word of God
I boldly confess My Mind is alert
My heart is receptive.
I will never be the same.
I am about to receive the incorruptible, Indestructible ever-living seed of the Word of God
I will never be the same
I'll never be the same, In Jesus Name.
Amen.
Turn in your Biles to Galatians 4:19 and say, "Amen" when you are there.
“My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you.”
— Galatians 4:19 (NIV)
Introduction
Everywhere we look, communities are being shaped by something — culture, politics, money, or media. But as the body of Christ, we are called to be different.
We are not just a group of people who meet every Sunday.
We are a community in which Christ Himself is being formed.
Paul’s words in Galatians 4:19 reveal his heart — he wasn’t just preaching sermons or building organizations; he was laboring until Christ was formed in the people.
That’s the goal of every church, every fellowship, and every small group:
That Christ would be seen, felt, and reflected through us — together.
"Christ Formed in Our Community"
I. Christ Is Formed When We Live in Unity
Scripture: John 17:21 — “That they may all be one, Father, just as You are in Me and I am in You.”
The world does not see Christ through our buildings but through our oneness.
Unity is not uniformity; it’s harmony in diversity.
When we choose forgiveness over offense, and grace over gossip, Christ is formed in us.
A choir has many voices, but when each sings their part in harmony, the sound becomes one — beautiful and strong. That’s how Christ sounds in a united community.
II. Christ Is Formed When We Serve One Another
Scripture: Philippians 2:5–7 — “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus... who made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant.”
Christ is formed not in those who demand to be served, but in those who serve others.
Every act of kindness, every humble service, shapes the image of Christ among us.
Service is the language of love in the Kingdom.
When Jesus washed His disciples’ feet, He showed that the greatest in the Kingdom is the servant of all.
Where can you serve in your community — not for recognition, but for love?
When we serve each other, Christ is seen in our midst.
III. Christ Is Formed When We Bear One Another’s Burdens
Scripture: Galatians 6:2 — “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
A Christ-formed community is one that feels each other’s pain.
We don’t walk past the struggling — we walk with them.
Compassion makes Christ visible in our relationships.
Illustration:
When one member suffers, the whole body suffers (1 Corinthians 12:26).
Like the human body, the Church must respond to every wounded part with healing care.
Who around you is hurting, lonely, or struggling?
When we lift them up, we lift up Christ in our community.
IV. Christ Is Formed When We Live Out the Word Together
Scripture: James 1:22 — “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”
The Word of God is the seed; our community is the soil.
When we live according to the Word — forgiving, praying, walking in truth — the character of Christ grows among us.
Teaching and learning together deepen our formation in Christ.
Illustration:
In Acts 2:42-47, the early believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to fellowship, to breaking bread, and to prayer.
The result? “The Lord added to their number daily.”
Application:
A Bible-centered community becomes a Christ-shaped community.
V. Christ Is Formed When We Reflect His Mission to the World
Scripture: Matthew 5:14–16 — “You are the light of the world... let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
The ultimate sign that Christ is formed in us is when others encounter His love through our witness.
Evangelism is not just words — it’s the life of Christ displayed in our community.
When we live in unity, service, compassion, and truth, the world sees Jesus.
Let our community be a living letter of Christ — written not with ink, but by the Spirit (2 Corinthians 3:3).
Conclusion: Christ Among Us
When Christ is formed in a community, the atmosphere changes:
Love replaces judgment.
Unity replaces division.
Mission replaces comfort.
Let us pray that His image is shaped in our relationships, our homes, and our churches — until people no longer see “us,” but see Christ living in us and among us.
Closing Prayer
“Lord Jesus, form Your character in us as individuals and as a community.
Teach us to love as You love, serve as You serve, and live in unity.
May Your presence be visible in our fellowship,
so that when others encounter us, they encounter You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
