Summary: “If You Only Knew why I praise him like I do ” a testimony of what the Lord has done for you

Psalm 34:1 (KJV)

1

I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

TOPIC- IF YOU ONLY KNEW THE REASON WHY I PRAISE HIM LIKE I DO

My brothers and sisters

When we stop and think of the phrase “If You Only Knew”

We come to the conclusion that it is letting someone know

If they could understand something like you understand it.

If they could only experience it like you did

Then maybe they could appreciate it like you do.

You see

If they only knew like you know

Then maybe they could comprehend what you`re saying,

Maybe then they would understand why you praise God the way you do.

In other words

“If You Only Knew why I praise him like I do ”

Is a testimony of what the Lord has done for you

And I wonder if there’s

Anybody in the house this morning /evening

Who have a – If you only knew the reason why I praise Him like I do testimony

And the truth of the matter

We all should have a

If you only knew the reason why I praise him like I do testimony

Because when you think about

How the Lord has

ANSWERED YOUR PRAYERS

LIFTED YOUR BURDENS –

AND THOSE HE DID`NT LIFT HE GAVE

YOU STRENGHT TO BEAR THEM

How THE LORD HAS LED YOU INTO

THE GREEN PASTURES OF PLENTY

AND WALK WITH YOU BESIDES THE STILL WATERS OF PEACE

PREPARED A TABLE BEFORE YOUR HATERS

DRIED YOUR TEARS

MENDED YOUR BROKEN HEART

MADE AWAY OUT OF NO WAY

MADE YOUR ENEMIES YOUR

FOOTSTOOL

( YOU OUGHT TO LOOK OVER AT YOUR NEIGHBOR AND TELL THEM

If you only knew the reason why I praise him like I do

In the text before us

We find one of the most famous and most quoted Psalms.

David pens this psalms while in the cave of Adullam

It was there

That David turns a cave into a cathedral.

And what should have been His cemetery into a sanctuary

By letting us know that his

If you only knew the reason why I praise Him like do

Testimony was personal

Notice what he says

He says “I will bless the Lord at all times and His praise shall continually be in my mouth”.

And the first thing that we have understand

Is that his testimony is personal.

David didn’t say

That they need to bless the Lord at all times

And His praise should be in their mouth continually.

But he said I.

He made it personal,

And in order for us to be able to say like David said it

We must have our own personal experience with the Lord.

Notice what he says

“I will bless the Lord at all times.”

In other word

David let`s us know that

Praising God is a powerful act.

It's a declaration of our faith,

A proclamation of our trust,

And a demonstration of our love for Him.

It's a way of acknowledging

-His greatness,

-His goodness,

-And His grace.

And it's a way of connecting with Him on a deep, personal level.

But not only was it a personal testimony

********2nd point (motivated)****

But text reveals it was a motivated testimony

It was motivated because the word bless in the text means

To praise, to congratulate, to salute, or to brag

And I wonder if there anybody in the house this morning

Who can brag on God (repeat 3x)

Let me put a praise token in the praise meter

(And do a praise check)

-Woke you up this morning

- Started you on your way

- Put food on your table

- Clothe on your back

- Roof over your head

- Protected you from dangers seen and unseen

And if the Lord has done anything for you

You ought to stand up on your holy feet

And put your sanctified hands together

And give your neighbor a high 5

(And tell them)

If you only knew the reason why I praise him like do

You see it was a motivated testimony

Because when David was in the Cave of Adullam

He took a trip down memory lane

And reflected

Reminisce

and Remembered

How good the Lord had been to him

How the Lord gave him strength to kill a lion and a bear with his hands

How the Lord gave him victory over goliath and his 4 brothers

How the lord delivered him out of the hands of king Achish

You see the men came to the cave of Adullam

To encourage David

But instead of them encouraging David

David encouraged them

By telling them how good the Lord had been to him

******3rd point (Continuous)******

Well not only was David testimony personal testimony and a motivated testimony

But the text also reveals that it`s a Continuous testimony

Notice -notice -notice

David didn’t say,

“I’ll bless the Lord when things are good,”

Or “I’ll bless the Lord when I feel like it.”

But he said, all times.

In other words

In seasons of joy and sorrow,

In triumph and despair,

And in his Continuous testimony

He lets us know that

Praise is a Weapon in the Battle

And that

Praise is more than words—it’s warfare.

It’s a weapon against the enemy’s lies, fear, and discouragement.

Because when we praise,

We release the power of God into our situations.

And it reminds the enemy that no matter what, we belong to God.

Because praise

Shifts the atmosphere,

Disarms the enemy,

And invites the presence of God to work on your behalf.

Because praise

Shifts our perspective,

Strengthens our faith,

And realigns our hearts with God's will.

That why David put emphasis on the experience of his life

With the words, “at all times.

” In other words,

What David was saying is,

I’m going to bless the Lord

anywhere and anyhow.

No matter what happens, or come my way,

No matter how dark the night,

I WILL BLESS THE LORD.

In poverty or in plenty

Forsaken or forgotten

David says,

I will bless the Lord at all times!

No matter what,

I’m going to give God the praise He truly deserve .

You see ____________

When you think about

How the Lord spoke creation into existence – by saying -let there be

Set the sun in its socket and crowned the moon as the queen of the night.

How The Lord created the heavens with the work of His fingers

And scooped out the valleys with His footsteps

And manufactured mountains with His will.

The Lord who spat out the seven seas in an instant of time.

And taught rivers how to run,

Put green in grass

Wet in water.

Taught time how to rotate from night today

And then from day to night.

Took dust and formed man in His hand,

Loved him into existence

And on the banks of time blew into him the breath of life,

And man became a living being

And when David reflected back on the goodness of the Lord

He lets us know we should bless the Lord continually

- at all times.

We are to bless Him vocally

Because His praise should be in our mouth.

We are to bless Him inwardly –

and unashamedly

. When I’m Up

• When I’m Down

• When I Have Money –

• When I`m Broke –

• When I am Feeling Well

• When I Have Aches and Pains

• When I am Understood -

• When I am Misunderstood –

I’m going to bless the Lord

Because if you only knew

The mountains I had to endure

The valleys I had to go through

If you only knew

When the doctor walk away shaking his head

But through it all I came out of it with a testimony

I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Because when I think about

How Jesus walk up calvary`s road

So that one day we can walk on streets of gold

When I think about how Jesus wore a crown of thorns down here

So that we can wear a crown of righteousness up there

When I think about

How Jesus

Hung –bleed –died

Place in a borrowed tomb

But early Sunday morning

He got up with all power in His Hands

And because he got up

I got a if you only knew the reason why I praise Him like I do testimony

Because can`t nobody do me like Jesus

That`s why I love to praise him

I love to praise – his name
