JESUS THE KING OF GLORY

INTRODUCTION:
The title King of Glory emphasizes the majesty, authority, and supremacy of Jesus Christ over heaven and earth. He is enthroned in power, deserving worship, reverence, and obedience from all creation.
Understanding Jesus as the King of Glory encourages believers to align their lives under His rule. It reminds us that every authority, challenge, or opposition must bow to His sovereign reign. His glory illuminates every darkness and transforms our lives through His power.
This revelation calls the Church to recognise and celebrate Christ’s majesty. Acknowledging Him as King of Glory inspires bold faith, worshipful living, and unwavering trust in His supreme authority over all circumstances.
1. JESUS REIGNS IN SPLENDOUR
Christ’s glory is visible through His majesty, divine nature, and holy presence, which surpasses all earthly grandeur.
a) Divine Majesty (Psalm 145:11-12): The greatness of the Lord is manifest in creation and in His miraculous works among men.
b) Ruler Over Nations (Daniel 7:14): His authority extends over all kingdoms and powers; no earthly ruler can rival Him.
c) Worthy of Worship (Revelation 5:12-13): All angels and saints proclaim His glory, honour, and praise, demonstrating His unmatched splendour.
d) Manifestation of Glory (Exodus 24:17): His glory can consume and awe those who approach with reverence and faith.
Biblical Example: When Solomon dedicated the temple, the glory of the Lord filled the house, showing God’s majesty and supreme authority (1 Kings 8:10-11).
2. JESUS IS MIGHTY IN BATTLE
The King of Glory demonstrates His power by defeating every enemy, spiritual or physical, on behalf of His people.
a) Conqueror of Evil (Colossians 2:15): Jesus triumphed over sin, Satan, and every spiritual principality through His cross and resurrection.
b) Protector of His People (Psalm 18:39-42): He goes before His followers, ensuring victory in life’s battles and spiritual warfare.
c) Strength to Overcome (2 Chronicles 20:15-17): Believers receive divine strategies and courage to triumph when they rely on His might.
d) Eternal Dominion (Hebrews 1:3): His power sustains the universe and grants authority over every trial, test, and opposition.
Biblical Example: David, relying on God as the King of Glory, defeated Goliath and led Israel to victory over its enemies (1 Samuel 17:45-47).
3. JESUS COMMANDS UNIVERSAL AUTHORITY
The King of Glory has authority over all creation, both seen and unseen, and every creature recognizes His supremacy.
a) Authority Over Creation (Colossians 1:16-17): All things were created by Him, through Him, and for Him; His word sustains everything.
b) Authority Over Life and Death (Revelation 1:18): He holds the keys of death and Hades, demonstrating ultimate dominion.
c) Authority Over Kings and Nations (Psalm 2:8-9): Every ruler and kingdom must submit to His reign, willingly or by divine enforcement.
d) Authority Over the Church (Ephesians 1:20-22): Christ is head over the Church, orchestrating its growth, direction, and victory.
Biblical Example: Jesus calmed the storm, silencing the winds and waves, revealing His absolute authority over creation (Mark 4:39-41).
4. JESUS IS THE SOURCE OF GLORY AND SALVATION
As King of Glory, He provides deliverance, blessing, and eternal salvation to those who trust Him.
a) Salvation Through His Reign (Psalm 24:10): His sovereignty ensures that His people are secure, redeemed, and victorious.
b) Provider of Blessings (Deuteronomy 28:1-2): Those who honour and obey the King of Glory receive abundance and divine favour.
c) Guiding Light (Isaiah 60:1-3): His glory illuminates our path, bringing guidance, hope, and protection.
d) Eternal Hope (1 Peter 1:3-4): His reign guarantees an inheritance that is incorruptible, undefiled, and eternal.
Biblical Example: When the Israelites marched around Jericho, the glory and presence of God, the King of Glory, caused the walls to fall and victory to be achieved (Joshua 6:1-20).
CONCLUSION:
Jesus, the King of Glory, reigns with majesty, authority, and power over all creation. Recognizing His glory strengthens our faith, inspires obedience, and empowers us to walk in victory.
As believers, we are called to lift our hearts in worship, submit to His reign, and rely on His might in every circumstance. His majesty assures us that no enemy, trial, or opposition can hinder the fulfilment of God’s plan in our lives.
