PROPORTIONATE REWARD AWAITS ALL

INTRODUCTION:
The principle of divine reward is one of the most consistent truths in Scripture. God, in His perfect justice, has established that every individual will reap according to what they have sown. No act of righteousness or wickedness goes unnoticed before Him. This means that our actions, motives, and service to God and humanity will attract proportionate outcomes, either of blessing or judgment.
The term “Proportionate Reward” means a just and fair recompense that matches the quality, quantity, and faithfulness of one’s work or conduct. It signifies that God measures rewards not by appearance or status but by the heart and obedience of each person. Similarly, the phrase “Awaits All” means that this divine evaluation is universal and inevitable, no one will escape it. Every believer, minister, or unbeliever will one day stand before God to receive what is due.
This truth should inspire us to serve God faithfully and live righteously. It reminds us that our labour in the Lord is not in vain, and also warns that evil will not go unpunished. Therefore, every believer must live with eternity in view, knowing that our choices today determine our eternal outcome tomorrow.
1. GOD IS A RIGHTEOUS REWARDER
God’s nature is righteous and just, and He never forgets the labour of His children. His reward is always fair and perfectly measured.
a) God Rewards Faithfulness (Hebrews 6:10): God is not unjust to forget your work and labour of love. He takes note of every act of service, no matter how small.
b) God Rewards According to Deeds (Romans 2:6): Every person will receive a reward proportionate to their actions. God’s judgment is not random but based on divine fairness.
c) God’s Reward is Certain (Revelation 22:12): Jesus said, “Behold, I come quickly, and my reward is with me.” Every act done in faith will be remembered.
d) God’s Reward is Both Earthly and Eternal (Mark 10:29-30): Those who serve God faithfully receive blessings in this life and eternal joy in the world to come.
Biblical Example: Abraham obeyed God without hesitation, leaving his homeland by faith. His obedience brought generational blessings (Genesis 12:1-3). God proportionately rewarded his faith and loyalty.
2. EVERY ACTION HAS CONSEQUENCES
Nothing done on earth escapes God’s observation. Both good and evil deeds bring corresponding outcomes.
a) The Law of Sowing and Reaping (Galatians 6:7): Whatever a man sows, that he shall reap. Every choice, word, and action produces a harvest.
b) Righteous Deeds Bring Blessings (Psalm 58:11): Surely there is a reward for the righteous. God delights in repaying faithfulness with favour and promotion.
c) Sin Brings Judgment (Romans 6:23). The wages of sin is death. Those who continue in rebellion will face divine punishment.
d) Hidden Deeds Will Be Exposed (Ecclesiastes 12:14): God will bring every work into judgment, including secret acts. Nothing is hidden before Him.
Biblical Example: Achan’s hidden disobedience brought defeat to Israel (Joshua 7:1-26). His secret sin resulted in public shame and destruction — a proportionate consequence of his actions.
3. REWARDS ARE BASED ON FAITHFULNESS, NOT POSITION
In God’s kingdom, faithfulness weighs more than title, talent, or visibility. God rewards according to the heart behind the service.
a) Faithfulness in Little Things (Luke 16:10): He that is faithful in little shall be ruler over much. God promotes those who are diligent even in small responsibilities.
b) God Looks at the Heart (1 Samuel 16:7): While men see outward achievements, God measures the sincerity of our motives.
c) Every Labour Counts (1 Corinthians 15:58): Our labour in the Lord is never in vain. No effort for the kingdom goes unrewarded.
d) Comparison is Dangerous (2 Corinthians 10:12): God does not reward by comparison but by personal obedience. Each person’s portion is unique to their assignment.
Biblical Example: The parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30) shows that reward is proportionate to faithfulness. Both the five-talent and two-talent servants received equal commendation, while the unfaithful one was condemned.
4. ETERNAL REWARDS AND CONSEQUENCES
The final judgment will reveal the eternal destinies of all people. Heaven and hell are the ultimate expressions of divine proportionate reward.
a) Believers Will Receive Crowns (2 Timothy 4:8): Those who finish the race faithfully will receive a crown of righteousness. God honours endurance and holiness.
b) The Wicked Will Be Judged (Revelation 20:12): The dead will be judged according to their works. No evil will go unpunished before the throne of God.
c) The Fire Will Test Every Work (1 Corinthians 3:13): Every man’s work will be tested. Only what is done for Christ will last.
d) Jesus Will Judge Without Partiality (Matthew 16:27): The Son of Man shall reward every man according to his deeds. His justice is perfect and unchanging.
Biblical Example: Paul, after enduring trials and persecutions, declared that a crown of righteousness awaited him (2 Timothy 4:7-8). His reward was proportionate to his sacrificial service.
CONCLUSION:
Proportionate reward reminds us that life is a divine field of sowing and reaping. God is just, impartial, and perfect in His judgment. Every act of obedience, love, or service will attract heaven’s reward, while every act of rebellion will bring its own consequence.
Therefore, let us serve God sincerely, walk in righteousness, and labour faithfully, knowing that our eternal reward awaits us. The day is coming when the righteous will shine like stars and every tear shed in faith will become a crown of joy. Live daily with eternity in view, for your proportionate reward is sure.

1. Lord, I thank You for being a righteous and faithful rewarder of those who diligently seek You.
2. Father, help me to live with eternity in view and to sow good seeds daily.
3. Lord, deliver me from every form of laziness, hypocrisy, or unfaithfulness in service.
4. O God, purify my motives so that my service to You may be genuine and acceptable.
5. Father, help me to endure trials and remain steadfast until the end.
6. Lord, let every seed of righteousness I have sown begin to speak for me.
7. O God, frustrate every plan of the enemy to make me lose my eternal reward.
8. Father, empower me to finish well and receive the crown of glory.
9. Lord, remember my labour in Your vineyard and reward me abundantly.
10. O God, let my life continually bring glory to You through fruitful service.
