Acts 13 v 42 - 52 REVIVAL PROBING - THE FIVE CLASSES REVEALED
1. The Willing
The Seekers - 42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words
The Search - might be preached to them the next sabbath.
The Serious - 43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
The Success - 44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
2. The Warring
Their Absurdity - 45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes,
Their Hostility - they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.
Their Lunacy - Their
Revelation - 46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you:
Reaction - but seeing ye put it from you,
Resolution - and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life,
This is Not - God's View, Angel's View, Apostle's View, Man's View, Devil's View, but Their Own View Alone.
Rejection - Their Injury - lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
3. The Working
A Divine Decree - 47 For so hath the Lord commanded us,
A Direct Decree - saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles,
It is - Sovereign - I have set thee,
It is - Singular - to be a light
It is - Simple - of the Gentiles, - 2 Timothy 1:11 whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
A Preaching Ministry - whereunto I am appointed a preacher
A Teaching Ministry - and an apostle, and a teacher
A Reaching Ministry - and a teacher of the Gentiles.
A Distinct Decree -
It's Personal - 47 that thou shouldest be
It's Powerful - for salvation,
It's Practical - unto the ends of the earth.
A Four Dimensional Love - Eph 3:17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
The Breadth of God's love: "For God so loved the world."
The Length of God's love: "that He gave His only begotten Son." that
Depth of God's love: "whosoever believeth in Him should not perish."
And The Height of God's love: "but have everlasting, life."
4. The Worshipping
The Source - 48 And when the Gentiles heard this,
The Song - they were glad,
The Sincerity - and glorified the word of the Lord:
The Salvation - and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
The Saturation - 49 and the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.
5. The Wasting
Their Form - 50 But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city,
Their Force - and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas,
Their Folly - and expelled them out of their coasts.
Matthew 8:33 And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils. 34 And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.
Their Futility - 51 But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium.
Their Failure -
52 And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.
