“When They Say Peace and Safety”
Text: Daniel 9:27; 1 Thessalonians 5:1–3; Ezekiel 38–39 (KJV)
I. Introduction: A Peace Agreement That Shook the World
On October 10, 2025, a ceasefire goes into effect in Gaza.
The world celebrates.
World leaders call it historic.
But behind this agreement stands a man with no official government position, no diplomatic office, and no elected authority — yet he negotiated with seven nations, drafted the plan, and got it signed.
His name: Jared Kushner.
For some, this is just politics.
For those who know biblical prophecy, this development raises a sobering question:
“Are we witnessing the setup for the fulfillment of The Book of Daniel 9:27?”
II. A Man in the Shadows — and an Ancient Prophecy
• Jared Kushner, son-in-law of Donald Trump, became a key player in Middle East diplomacy through the Abraham Accords.
• Though out of the spotlight for years, he has privately brokered a sweeping 20-point peace plan involving Israel, Hamas, and key Arab nations.
• This was accomplished without any official government authority, using connections and credibility earned from previous agreements.
Pastoral caution: We must not anoint any living figure as “the” end-time ruler; Scripture calls us to watchfulness, not name-certainty. Yet Scripture trains our discernment to recognize patterns aligned with prophecy.

26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”
• “Confirm” = Hebrew gabar ? to strengthen or make firm something already existing.
• This prophecy speaks of a multilateral covenant with many — involving Israel — and a figure without a throne who brokers it.
III. The Covenant with Many: A Modern Parallel
The recent peace agreement involved:

3. 🇪🇬 Egypt (mediator)
4. 🇶🇦 Qatar (financial/diplomatic pressure)

This is not an ordinary treaty. Many of these nations are historical enemies.
But one man worked in secret to unite them.
📖 Daniel 9:27 again: “He shall confirm the covenant with many.”
A. What Daniel Foresaw vs. What We Are Seeing
Daniel 9:27 emphasizes “he shall confirm the covenant with many.”
Unlike a bilateral treaty, this points to a multilateral, coalition-based agreement—exactly what the modern Middle East peace framework resembles.
C. How This Treaty Mirrors Daniel 9:27
• “Confirm the covenant” — strengthening prior efforts rather than creating ex nihilo.
• “With many” — multilateral; multiple Arab states plus Israel.
• “For one week” — while not stated as seven years, the framework’s phased design could align with such a timeline.
E. Why This Treaty Matters Prophetically
Israel is central; enemies at one table; back-channel diplomacy by a figure without a throne; and a peace that Scripture says will be broken midstream.
F. The Danger of False Security
Jer. 6:14; 1 Thess. 5:3 warn that false peace produces lowered defenses and strategic vulnerability—precisely the environment Ezekiel describes (Ezek. 38–39).

Be watchful, not fearful; distinguish true peace from false; pray for discernment; preach the Gospel urgently; stay anchored in Scripture.
This is not speculation. It’s happening before our eyes.
IV. The Illusion of Peace: A Biblical Warning
The Bible distinguishes between two kinds of peace:
• God’s Peace — Shalom through Christ; eternal, transformative.
• Human Peace — Political treaties; temporary, fragile.
Christ’s peace is eternal.
B. Political Peace Is Often a Bandage, Not a Cure
Jeremiah 6:14 exposes superficial proclamations of “peace.” Political solutions cannot cure spiritual wounds.

Application:
Just because the world signs papers and shakes hands doesn’t mean true peace has come. Political peace is like a wall plastered with weak mortar. It looks good… until the storm hits.
V. Prophetic Warning: Peace Before Sudden Destruction
1 Thessalonians 5:1–3 (KJV)
“But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”
• This is the spiritual trap of false security.
• When people relax, stop watching, stop preparing… sudden judgment comes.
Jesus Himself warned:

VI. The Stage Set for Ezekiel’s Prophecy Ezekiel 38:8 (KJV)
“...in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword… and they shall dwell safely, all of them.”
• Ezekiel speaks of a time when Israel is dwelling securely, with “unwalled villages,” at rest.
• This peace treaty could create those exact conditions.
Nations Named in Ezekiel 38–39:
• Gog & Magog (commonly identified with Russia)
• Persia (Iran)
• Togarmah & Gomer (Turkey region)
• Ethiopia & Libya (North Africa)
📌 Today these nations are already militarily aligned:
• Russia, Iran, and Turkey have been cooperating militarily in Syria for over a decade.
• They share intelligence, conduct joint exercises, and hold summits.
Ezekiel named this coalition 2,600 years ago.
Ezekiel 38:8 foretells Israel’s regathering and latter-years invasion during a time of perceived safety.

Russia, Iran, Turkey now coordinate militarily and diplomatically—unprecedented alignment.

VII. The Motivation for Invasion

“To take a spoil, and to take a prey… to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil.”
Why attack Israel?
• 💰 Natural Gas — Leviathan & Tamar fields (hundreds of billions of cubic meters).
• 🖥? Technology — World leader in cybersecurity, agriculture, defense.
• 🌍 Strategic Location — Trade routes linking Europe, Asia, and Africa.
• 🧪 Mineral Wealth — Dead Sea minerals worth billions.
Russia, whose economy depends on energy exports, has an economic motive.
Israel’s security lull could be the perfect moment for the coalition to strike.
VIII. Peace Agreement as a Prophetic Trigger
• Demilitarization of Gaza
• International peacekeeping forces
• Economic prosperity
• Normalized relations with Arab nations
?? These are the exact conditions Ezekiel describes: a secure Israel.
?? But beneath that calm surface, a storm is gathering in the north.
God will “put hooks in their jaws” (Ezekiel 38:4).
The peace agreement becomes the bait for the invasion.

Ezek. 38:22—pestilence, blood, overflowing rain, great hailstones, fire, and brimstone—unmistakably divine.

Ezek. 39:2—one-sixth survive (~83% destroyed). God alone gets glory.
G. Purpose: God’s Glory Revealed
Ezek. 38:23—He magnifies and sanctifies Himself; nations will know He is the LORD.
H. God’s Protection of Israel
Psalm 121:4; Zech. 12:9—He keeps Israel; He destroys the nations that come against Jerusalem.

Global shockwave; turning point for Israel; world power shift; prelude to end-time events (Dan. 9:27; Rev. 13).

IX. God’s Intervention

“...that my fury shall come up in my face. For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken...”
A. Prophecy as a Spiritual Alarm Clock
Romans 13:11—high time to awake; prophecy given to awaken, not entertain.
B. Birth Pains and Acceleration
Matt. 24:8—contractions increase in frequency and intensity; converging signs.
C. Global Impact
Econ-disruption, realignments, political shifts; Haggai 2:6–7—God shakes all nations.
God will:
• Cause a massive earthquake
• Turn the armies against each other
• Send pestilence, hail, fire, and brimstone
• Destroy 83% of the invading force (Ezekiel 39:2)
Why?
“Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.” (Ezekiel 38:23)
God alone will defend Israel.
No army. No nation. No treaty. Only His hand.
X. Spiritual Application: Watch and Be Ready
• We cannot say with certainty that Jared Kushner is the “he” of Daniel 9:27.
• But the pattern, the players, the conditions are undeniably aligning.

Believers must:
• Watch the signs of the times.
• Pray with vigilance.
• Anchor their hope in Christ, not in human peace.
XI. The True Source of Peace

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
The only lasting peace is through the Prince of Peace — Jesus Christ.
World treaties will crumble.
Kingdoms will fall.
But the Kingdom of God is unshakable.

As the world celebrates “peace and safety,” the church must be awake, not asleep.
• Are you trusting in human peace or God’s peace?
• Are you spiritually prepared for the return of Christ?
• Is your relationship with Jesus alive, vibrant, and secure?
