INTRODUCTION:
Favour is a divine endorsement that distinguishes an individual and opens doors no human effort could unlock. Throughout Scripture, those who experienced the favour of God rose above impossible circumstances and achieved extraordinary breakthroughs. October, being a month of prophetic significance, carries a divine declaration that God will pour out overflowing favour upon His people.
Many struggle under the weight of human rejection, delays, or missed opportunities. Yet, when God’s favour locates you, even those who once opposed you will be compelled to support your advancement. Favour shortens processes, accelerates destiny fulfilment, and turns ordinary situations into extraordinary testimonies.
As you embrace this prophetic word, position yourself with expectation and faith. God’s overflowing favour will not only open doors for you but will also cause you to be a channel of blessing to others. In this season, every limitation will be broken, and your life will radiate the goodness of God.
1. THE NATURE OF DIVINE FAVOUR
Favour is the supernatural kindness and acceptance of God that elevates you beyond human effort.
a) Favour comes directly from God (Psalm 5:12)
The Lord surrounds the righteous with favour as a shield, making them unshakable in the face of adversity.
b) Favour distinguishes you for extraordinary blessings (Genesis 6:8)
Noah found favour and was preserved in a generation marked for destruction.
c) Favour opens doors and accelerates destiny (Esther 2:17)
Esther was preferred above all others, moving from obscurity to royalty.
d) Favour attracts resources and helpers of destiny (Exodus 3:21)
The Israelites left Egypt with abundance because God gave them favour in the sight of their captors.
Biblical Example: Joseph (Genesis 39:21) experienced favour even in prison, which eventually positioned him for greatness in Pharaoh’s palace.
2. OVERFLOWING FAVOUR BREAKS LIMITATIONS
When favour overflows, it dismantles barriers, removes shame, and establishes divine opportunities.
a) Favour cancels past failures and mistakes (Luke 15:22)
The prodigal son was restored to honour through the father’s unmerited kindness.
b) Favour gives you access to places beyond your qualifications (Daniel 1:9)
Daniel and his friends were chosen for excellence because of divine favour.
c) Favour restores what was lost or stolen (Joel 2:25-26)
Years of labour and blessings can be supernaturally restored through favour.
d) Favour positions you as a blessing to others (Luke 1:30-31)
Mary was chosen to carry the Saviour because she was highly favoured.
Biblical Example: Ruth (Ruth 2:10-12) received favour in Boaz’s field, which opened the door for her transformation from a widow to a matriarch in the lineage of Christ.
3. WALKING IN OVERFLOWING FAVOUR
To experience overflowing favour, you must align yourself with God’s principles.
a) Walk in obedience and righteousness (Proverbs 3:3-4)
Obedience creates an atmosphere where favour can thrive and multiply.
b) Maintain a lifestyle of gratitude and humility (James 4:6)
Humility attracts grace, while gratitude positions you for greater favour.
c) Sow seeds of kindness and mercy (Matthew 5:7)
Those who show mercy to others often receive divine favour in return.
d) Remain steadfast in prayer and faith (Luke 18:1)
Persistent prayer activates heavenly interventions and supernatural favour.
Biblical Example: Cornelius (Acts 10:1-4) combined prayer, generosity, and righteousness, which attracted divine favour that transformed his household.
CONCLUSION:
Overflowing favour is not earned by human effort but granted by God’s mercy and grace. This October, God’s favour will locate you, distinguish you, and elevate you beyond your wildest expectations. Where you were once overlooked, you will now be celebrated.
Let your faith rise and your heart remain expectant. Trust that the God who favoured Joseph, Esther, Ruth, and Mary is still the same today. As you walk in obedience, gratitude, and prayer, October shall indeed be your month of overflowing favour.
