Text: Romans 10:11 – For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

PTMC, today I want to remind you of a powerful truth that sometimes gets buried under our fears, doubts, and past mistakes.

The Word declares:Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.

That means if you put your trust in Jesus, He will not embarrass you. He will not let you down, and He will not put you to shame.

People may walk away, they may close some doors in your face, but God will not let your faith in Him, return back empty.

Turn to your neighbor and say: Neighbor, He will not make you ashamed.

And I don’t know about you, but I believe in Him.

My faith is in Him.

I trust His Word.

He is my source.

And because I stand on His promises.

Let me give you my first point and that is: Faith Anchors Us Beyond Shame.

The Apostle Paul was writing to the believers in Rome, many of whom were looked down upon.

Many of whom were despised by others.

Many of whom were treated with disdain, scorned and belittled.

And it was all because of their faith.

Understand this. To follow Jesus often meant ridicule, rejection, and persecution. But yet Paul declares that faith in Christ is not a gamble, but it is a guarantee.

Man may shame you for trusting God, but God will never shame you for trusting Him.

People may laugh at you when you step out on faith. But God will make where they are not laughing anymore, but they are wondering and scratching their heads.

Family may doubt when you say, “God will provide.

Friends may walk away when you say that you are a living testimony, and now they say that you are living to too holy now.

But when the dust settles, the same people who mocked you will see the hand of God lift you.

Is there anybody here that can witness that he has brought you out before?

You ought to shout, yes, He did.

Is there anybody here that believes that God can do it again?

Somebody ought to shout I know He will.

The Apostle Paul was writing to the believers in Rome, many of whom were looked down upon and was dejected and even rejected by society because of their faith.

In the same way, some people may see us today, they may criticize us, misunderstand us, or even dismiss us, simply because we choose to follow Christ.

When the Apostle Paul wrote to the believers in Rome, he wasn’t just writing a letter—he was speaking life into a people who were often looked down upon, in shame.

Watch this: Many of the citizens in Rome saw the Christians as weak, strange, and even foolish because of their faith in Jesus Christ.

They weren’t honored in society; they were marginalized, in other words they were being pushed to the edge, and when you have took all that you can stand, you will saying like popeye, I can’t stands no more. They were being ridiculed, and at times persecuted.

And my sisters and brothers things haven’t changed all that much. Some people may see us today the same way.

They may call us old-fashioned because we still pray.

They may think we’re foolish because we still believe in the power of the cross.

They may dismiss us because we put all of our trust, in a God we cannot see.

But Paul’s message then, is God’s message now: Whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame.

No matter what people may say.

No matter how they may see us, your faith is not in vain.

The world may look down on us, but God lifts us up.

The world may reject us, but God has already chosen us.

My 2nd Point is our Belief Connects Us to His Promises

The scripture says Whosoever believeth. That means it’s not about your last name, or who you are connected with, or your past mistakes. The invitation is wide open to whosoever.

Are there any whosoever’s in the house this morning?

Because we must know that our Faith is the bridge between your present struggle and God’s promised future.

And I know what shame is. Shame comes from depending on the wrong source, on people, on others money, or even your own strength.

But when your belief is rooted in Christ, He covers you, it carries you, and it completes the work in you.

I don’t know about you, but my belief is bigger than my shame.

I’m out of here when I tell you this, it’s my 3rd point and that is God can Turn your Shame into Testimony

Sometimes shame comes from what you’ve been through.

We all have had some failures, we all have sins, the only way you can live above sin is that you live on the second floor, and a sinner lives on the first floor.

We all have a past. But the beauty of the Gospel is that God uses what once embarrassed you, as a testimony that glorifies Him.

The woman at the well came ashamed, but left declaring,

Come see a man.

Peter denied Jesus in shame, but later, Peter stood in boldness at Pentecost.

Paul persecuted the church in shame, but later preached the Gospel with power.

May I tell you this morning that God does not erase our story, but instead He redeems it.

So, I’m reminded of a story that once read about a young man who grew up poor.

His family couldn’t afford much, and his clothes were old and raggedy.

The children at schoolhouse laughed at him on a daily bases.

But one day, he got invited to a church revival.

The record is that He sat in the back, ashamed of how he looked.

But when the preacher read Romans 10:1, Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed. The boy raised his head and said I believe that he’s talking to me.

That night, things began to change in his heart and he gave his life to Christ.

I heard that years later, that same boy grew up to be a successful man, but more importantly, a man of faith.

When people asked him what changed his life, he always said: That scripture told me Jesus would never embarrass me for trusting Him. People shamed me, but God lifted me.

He said wait a minute I feel like preaching here. He said they counted me out, but God brought me in.

They pushed me down, but God raised me up.

They turned their backs, but God kept His hand on me.

They said I wouldn’t make it, but God made a way.

They tried to break me, but God built me stronger.

They spoke against me, but God spoke for me.

They rejected me, but God accepted me.

May I tell you that, that’s what God does when He takes your shame and flips it into victory.

All you have to do is trust in Jesus, and He will not make you ashamed.

When you pray and it seems like there are no answers. Here is the answer. Keep on believing.

When they doubt your faith, just keep on standing.

When shame whispers to you about your past, you just keep trusting.

Because the Word is still true: Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.

Because God will keep His promise.

He will never let you down. Ohhhhhh no, He won’t.

If you are not to mean somebody shout it with me. I am not ashamed.

He will not make me ashamed.
