Funeral Kira service Funeral Message Inspired by Psalm 23
1. Today, we gather to celebrate the life of a gentle soul—
• Kiera was a daughter, a granddaughter , a friend, a Christian
• Kiera whom I didn’t know well but I gather she was one who walked through life with quiet strength and unwavering faith.
• I believe although illness shadowed much of her journey,
• She never let it define her spirit. The day she past she was out with Karen She was sweet, kind, and full of light, and at 43, she left us far too soon.
2. The Psalm begins, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
• And truly, she lived as someone who trusted her Shepherd.
• Even in pain, she found peace.
• Even in weakness, she showed us strength.
• Her life was a testimony to the truth that God walks with us—not just in green pastures, but through the valleys too. She had many valleys
3. We didn’t know Kiera’s struggles with illness, anxiety, and often migraine type headaches.
• The psalm writer says “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me.”
• She knew that valley well. And yet, she never walked it alone.
• God was with her—in every hospital room, in every quiet prayer, in every moment of hope.
• As a result she rests in His presence, where there is no more pain, no more tears
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying…”
4. The Psalm writer says “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
• That promise is hers now. She dwells in the house of the Lord—not as someone broken, but whole.
• Not as someone suffering, but healed. No More Migraines, No more checking her sugar, no more pain, Isaiah says, The righteous perish… but they are at peace.”
• Her journey here may have been marked by struggle, but her eternity is marked by joy.
5. I remember the scriptures that bring us hope even today
• Let us remember Kiera not by the illness she endured, but by the love she gave,
• Let’s remember Kiera for the sweetness she carried, and the faith that sustained her.
• We can remember She was a light in the darkness, and now she shines even brighter in the presence of her Shepherd.
• Lets remember this today is not the end but the beginning Paul says “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life… shall be able to separate us from the love of God.” Gods love is constant
• Lets remember that God gives us A promise of restoration and healing “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions… I go to prepare a place for you.”
