GREATER WORKS or GREAT EXCUSES
Text: John 14:12 – “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”
Mark 16:17-18 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; / they will pick up snakes with their hands, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not harm them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will be made well.”

• Jesus said SHALL do — not MIGHT do!
• His works: heal the hurting, deliver the bound, raise the dead, still the storm.
• We’ve traded GREATER WORKS for GREATER EXCUSES!
• God’s power hasn’t changed — OUR expectation has!

1?? FEARFUL FAITH (Lack of Faith)
• Heb. 11:6 – “Without faith…”
• 2 Cor. 5:7 – “Walk by faith, not sight.”
• Faith is not a feeling — faith is the fact before the fact!

• Shout: “I believe before I behold!”

2?? SIGHT-STRANGLED SPIRITUALITY (Walking by Sight)
• Rom. 10:17 – “Faith cometh by hearing…”
• Peter walked before proof (Matt. 14:29).
• Sight waits — faith steps!
• Alliteration: “Sight-strangled saints stay stuck.”
• Shout: “Step first, see second!”

3?? HALF-HEARTED HOLINESS (Lack of Holiness)
• Heb. 12:14 – “Follow… holiness…”
• Ps. 24:3-4 – “Clean hands, pure heart…”
• You can’t pour pure anointing into polluted vessels.
• Alliteration: “Half-hearted holiness hinders Heaven’s help.”
• Say it: “Clean hands… pure heart… holy life!”

4?? SELF-SATURATED SERVICE (Self-Centered Living)
• Phil. 2:4 – “Look… on the things of others.”
• Matt. 22:39 – “Love thy neighbour…”
• The early church cared about souls, not selfies!
• Alliteration: “Self-saturated saints seldom see souls saved.”
• Shout: “More love, more power, more people reached!”

5?? SPIRIT-STARVED STRENGTH (Neglect of the Holy Ghost)
• Acts 1:8 – “Ye shall receive power…”
• Jesus ministered by the Spirit (Acts 10:38).
• The Spirit isn’t optional — He’s the outlet of power!
• Alliteration: “Spirit-starved strength stays small.”
• Cry out: “Come, Holy Ghost, fill me again!”

• The sick are still here. The lost are still here. The bound are still here.
• We can have GREATER WORKS or GREAT EXCUSES — not both!

Lord, I repent of excuses.
I choose faith over fear.
I choose Spirit-sight over flesh-sight.
I choose holiness over compromise.
I choose others over self.
I choose the Holy Ghost over human strength.
I will do the works You did… and greater works, in Jesus’ name!
