INTRODUCTION:

Tears are a language of the soul. They speak of pain, loss, disappointment, and deep emotion. In the Bible, God is not only aware of our tears, but He also takes account of them. Psalm 56:8 reveals that God keeps our tears in a bottle, showing how precious they are to Him.

There are seasons in life when human words fail and all we can offer are tears. But our God is not silent in such times. He draws near to the broken-hearted and promises to wipe away all tears from our eyes. He is not a passive observer of our pain—He is an active restorer.

Whether caused by grief, betrayal, delay, or affliction, your tears are not in vain. God has a divine response to every tear. The God who dries tears will visit you with joy, healing, and restoration.

1. GOD TAKES NOTICE OF YOUR TEARS

a) God is touched by your emotions

Hebrews 4:15 — He is not detached from our feelings; He sympathises with our weaknesses.

b) God collects every tear

Psalm 56:8 — He records and stores our tears, showing they are not forgotten.

c) God sees secret pain

2 Kings 20:5 — God told Hezekiah, “I have seen your tears,” assuring us that even silent cries reach Heaven.

d) God responds to our cry

Exodus 3:7 — “I have seen the affliction... and have heard their cry.” He does not ignore tears.

Biblical Example: Hannah cried out in bitterness of soul and God gave her Samuel (1 Samuel 1:10-20).

2. GOD COMFORTS THE BROKEN-HEARTED

a) God draws near to the hurting

Psalm 34:18 — He is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

b) Divine comfort replaces sorrow

Isaiah 61:2-3 — He gives the oil of joy for mourning and garments of praise for the spirit of heaviness.

c) God gives peace in the midst of storms

John 14:27 — He gives peace not as the world gives, calming our hearts.

d) The Holy Spirit is our Comforter

John 14:16 — The Spirit of God stays with us to comfort and counsel us.

Biblical Example: Jesus comforted Mary and Martha before raising Lazarus (John 11:32-35).

3. GOD TURNS MOURNING INTO JOY

a) God reverses sorrow with rejoicing

Psalm 30:5 — Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

b) Divine intervention restores joy

Joel 2:25-26 — He restores what was lost and fills us with satisfaction.

c) God remembers those who mourn

Isaiah 25:8 — He will swallow up death and wipe away tears from all faces.

d) Joy is a promise to God’s children

John 16:20 — “You will weep… but your sorrow will turn to joy.”

Biblical Example: Naomi, who came back bitter, rejoiced again through the birth of Obed (Ruth 4:13-17).

4. GOD USES TEARS TO PRODUCE TESTIMONIES

a) Tears water the seeds of breakthrough

Psalm 126:5-6 — Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy.

b) God honours tearful prayers

Hebrews 5:7 — Jesus offered prayers with strong crying and was heard.

c) Every tear becomes part of your testimony

Revelation 7:17 — God will wipe away every tear; they have a purpose.

d) God brings glory out of affliction

2 Corinthians 4:17 — Our light affliction works for us a greater weight of glory.

Biblical Example: Joseph wept through betrayal but ended in honour and elevation (Genesis 50:20).

5. GOD WILL DRY YOUR TEARS COMPLETELY

a) Permanent healing is in God’s hands

Revelation 21:4 — There will be no more death, sorrow, crying, or pain.

b) Earthly tears will end in eternal joy

Isaiah 35:10 — Sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

c) Heaven celebrates the end of earthly pain

Luke 6:21 — “Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.”

d) God will personally wipe your tears

Revelation 7:17 — “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.”

Biblical Example: The widow at Nain’s tears were wiped away when Jesus raised her son (Luke 7:11-15).

CONCLUSION:

The God who dries tears does not merely console—He restores. He knows the depth of every tear you've shed and has already made provision to turn your sorrow into songs. As you call on Him, know that He is moved with compassion and He will not ignore your pain.

Tears may flow now, but they are not the end of your story. Trust in the God who keeps record of every drop. His comfort is coming. His joy is rising. And your testimony shall speak loudest where your tears once fell.
