PRAISE THE LORD - Yesterday, Today, and Forever!

Introduction:
Church, let me tell you something - Psalm 34 is FIRE! This isn't some dusty old religious poem - this is David shouting from the rooftops about a God who shows up, shows out, and never lets His people down! Can I get an amen?
David had just escaped from King Abimelech by acting crazy - and honey, sometimes you gotta act a fool to let God be God! But when he got out, he couldn't keep quiet about what the Lord had done! This psalm is pure testimony - what God HAS done, what God IS doing right now, and what God WILL do! Somebody say "He's faithful!"
I. SHOUTING ABOUT WHAT GOD HAS ALREADY DONE!
Listen to David testify: "I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears" (Psalm 34:4)!
Y'all, David didn't whisper a prayer and hope for the best - he SOUGHT the Lord! And when he did, God didn't put him on hold, didn't send him to voicemail - HE HEARD HIM! And not only did He hear him, He DELIVERED him from ALL his fears!
How many of you know that when you truly seek God, He shows up? When you cry out to Him, He doesn't just hear - He ACTS! David says, "This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles" (Psalm 34:6).
That word "poor" means desperate, at the end of your rope, nowhere else to turn! But saints, that's exactly where God does His best work! When you're desperate, God is deliberate! When you're at your lowest, He lifts you highest!
Think about it, church:
• When the Red Sea had Israel trapped, God made a highway through the water!
• When Daniel was in the lion's den, God shut the lions' mouths!
• When the Hebrew boys were in the fire, Jesus showed up for a stroll!
• When Paul and Silas were in jail, God sent an earthquake jailbreak!
And let me tell you what He's done for YOU! He saved your soul from hell! He forgave every sin! He adopted you into His family! He wrote your name in the Lamb's Book of Life! If that doesn't make you shout, check your pulse! Give a loud shout to the Lord if He’s healed you! Give a loud shout to the Lord if He has delivered you from an addiction, a devil, or a hard situation!
II. CELEBRATING WHAT GOD IS DOING RIGHT NOW!
But wait - there's more! David says, "The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them" (Psalm 34:7).
Church, that's PRESENT TENSE! Right now, this very moment, God's angels are camped around you like a heavenly army! You may not see them, but they're there! You're walking around with supernatural bodyguards!
"The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry" (Psalm 34:15). God's not sleeping on the job! His eyes are ON you, His ears are OPEN to you! Twenty-four seven, three-sixty-five, God is paying attention to YOU!
What is God doing right now?
• He's working things out for your good! (Romans 8:28)
• He's supplying your needs! (Philippians 4:19)
• He's fighting your battles! (Exodus 14:14)
• He's preparing your future! (Jeremiah 29:11)
"The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit" (Psalm 34:18). When your heart is breaking, God draws near! When you're crushed in spirit, He comes close! He's not waiting for you to get it all together - He meets you in your mess!
Some of you are thinking, "Pastor, I don't feel God." Let me tell you - feelings lie, but God's Word is truth! He said He's near to the brokenhearted, so if your heart is broken tonight, God is closer than your next breath!
III. DECLARING WHAT GOD WILL DO!
Now David starts prophesying about the future! "They that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing" (Psalm 34:10).
That's a promise with your name on it! If you seek God, you will not lack ANYTHING that's truly good for you! God knows what you need before you need it, and He's already making provision!
"Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all" (Psalm 34:19). David's not sugar-coating it - he says you WILL have troubles! But every trouble has an expiration date because God WILL deliver you out of ALL of them!
Some of you are in affliction right now, but I've got good news - your deliverance is on the way! God hasn't forgotten about you! Your breakthrough is coming! Your healing is coming! Your victory is coming!
"The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate" (Psalm 34:22). Church, God's going to complete what He started! He's going to finish your salvation! He's going to bring you all the way home to glory!
What's coming for God's people?
• A new heaven and new earth! (Revelation 21:1)
• No more tears, no more pain, no more death! (Revelation 21:4)
• Streets of gold and gates of pearl! (Revelation 21:21)
• We're going to see Jesus face to face! (1 Corinthians 13:12)
IV. HOW DO WE RESPOND?
David couldn't keep quiet! "I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth" (Psalm 34:1)!
AT ALL TIMES! Not just on Sunday, not just when things are good - AT ALL TIMES! When you're up, praise Him! When you're down, praise Him! When you're blessed, praise Him! When you're stressed, praise Him!
"O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together" (Psalm 34:3). David says, "Come on, y'all! Let's lift His name up TOGETHER!"
That's what we're doing right now! We're magnifying the Lord! We're making His name bigger in our lives, bigger in our families, bigger in our community!
"O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him" (Psalm 34:8). You can't just hear about God's goodness - you've got to TASTE it for yourself! You've got to experience it! You've got to let Him prove Himself in your life!
Conclusion:
Church, I don't know what you've been through, I don't know what you're going through, and I don't know what's coming - but I know WHO'S got you! The same God who delivered David from Abimelech, who saved the Hebrew boys from the fire, who raised Jesus from the dead - THAT GOD is YOUR God!
He's been faithful in your past! He's working in your present! And He's got your future in His hands!
So lift up your hands and give Him praise! Open up your mouth and testify to His goodness! Tell somebody what the Lord has done!
"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever" (Hebrews 13:8)!
He hasn't changed! He's still delivering! He's still healing! He's still blessing! He's still saving! He's still working miracles!
Somebody shout "HALLELUJAH!" Somebody say "THANK YOU, JESUS!"
"I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth!"
Can the church say AMEN!
