Supernatural Upliftment
Study Text: Psalm 27:6
Introduction:
Supernatural upliftment is the act of God elevating an individual beyond human understanding or effort.
It defies natural laws and limitations, showcasing God's power, favour, and grace.
While human upliftment depends on connections, skills, or effort, supernatural upliftment comes solely from God.
Supernatural upliftment is when God's power elevates individuals above their current circumstances and challenges, leading to promotion, honour, and overcoming obstacles.
It is a supernatural intervention that can bring about positive change and transformation in various aspects of life.
Supernatural upliftment include the
restoration of what has been lost or forfeited, as well as to promote individuals to higher levels of influence and authority.
It is a message of hope and encouragement, reminding believers that God has the power to elevate them above their current situations and lead them to a place of greater blessing and fulfillment.
We shall be discussing the topic under three subheadings:
1. The Explanation of Supernatural Upliftment
2. The Examples of Supernatural Upliftment
3. The Experience of Supernatural Upliftment
1. The Explanation of Supernatural Upliftment:
Supernatural upliftment is divine elevation orchestrated by God and it is beyond human capacity (Psalm 75:6-7).
Only God has the power to lift one person and bring down another (Daniel 2:21).
Supernatural upliftment is unearned and unmerited. It is purely marked by God's grace and favour upon a man. (Genesis 6:8).
Supernatural upliftment breaks every barrier, opposition, resistance or limitation against the upliftment of the beneficiary. (Isaiah 60:1).
We have the case of Joseph, where God lifted him from prison to the palace, despite all oppositions and challenges he faced in life. (Genesis 41:39-44).
There are certain qualities that characterize supernatural upliftment. They include the following:
1. It Is Sudden, Unpredictable and Unexpected
God’s lifting often comes when least expected (1 Samuel 2:8).
2. It Brings Selective Distinctions and Blessings
Supernatural upliftment sets an individual apart for greatness (Isaiah 60:2).
3. It is Accompanied by Divine Protection
God protects those He lifts from the enemy's attacks (Psalm 91:1).
4. It Is Accompanied by Divine Favour
When God lifts a man, He grants him favour before men (Proverbs 3:4).
We have the case of Esther, where God lifted her from obscurity to royalty (Esther 2:17).
2. The Example of Supernatural Upliftment:
Every man needs a Lifting from God no matter how highly placed you are.
There are areas in your life and health where you need God to lift you out of .
We need supernatural upliftment as individuals and as families.
There are so many Biblical characters to show that God lifted men. Some of the Biblical examples of supernatural upliftment are:
1. God lifted Joseph through a process: from the prison to the palace.
Your lifting is guaranteed no matter where you are presently.
No matter what men do to bring you down, it will turn out to work for your good. Romans 8: 28
2. God lifted Hannah from being a barren woman to the mother of the celebrated prophet of God.
At that time Hannah prayed to God, she made a vow to give her son back to God in His service.
Hannah was lifted from mockery to celebration.
3. Mephiboseth was lifted by God to be recognized at the palace.
He was the grandson of Saul who was lame on both feet. He sat at the King’s table for the rest of his life.
Wherever you are, there is a lifting for you and God will visit you.
4. Esther was a slave girl and God lifted her to become a Queen in a strange land.
5. Mordecai was divinely lifted from a gatekeeper to a chief in the palace.
Someone was interested in bringing Mordecai down but God caused the book of remembrance to be opened.
3. The Experience of Supernatural Upliftment.
Supernatural Upliftment is purely brought about upon a man by God's Himself, but there are certain actions and attitudes that will position a man to experience supernatural upliftment:
1. Humility
God exalts the humble and resists the proud (James 4:7-10).
2. Faithfulness in Little Things
Faithfulness in little leads to greater opportunities (Luke 16:10).
3. Faithfulness in other Men's Affairs
A man that is faithful in the things of others committed to his hands, will position himself for God to release his own things unto him.
4. Obedience to God's Word
Obedience activates blessings and elevation (Deuteronomy 28:1-2).
5. Seeking God’s Presence
God’s presence guarantees supernatural upliftment (Exodus 33:14).
We have the case of David. His faithfulness and humility led to his elevation as king (1 Samuel 16:11-13).
6. Be Prayerful and Persistent
Prayer provokes divine intervention and lifting (Luke 18:1-7).
7. Cultivate a Lifestyle of Gratitude
Thanksgiving opens doors to God’s blessings (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
8. Walk in Holiness and Integrity
Holiness attracts God’s favour and blessings (Psalm 84:11).
We have the case of Daniel. His integrity and faithfulness led to his promotion (Daniel 6:3).
Whenever a man walks contrary to any of the above qualities, he faces hindrances to supernatural upliftment. Therefore, hindrances to supernatural upliftment will be caused by:
1. Pride and Arrogance
Pride precedes a fall, and God resists the proud (Proverbs 16:18).
2. Disobedience
Ignoring God’s instructions blocks His blessings (1 Samuel 15:22-23).
3. Lack of Faith
Doubt prevents us from experiencing divine lifting (Hebrews 11:6).
4. Unforgiveness and Bitterness
A hardened heart blocks favour and grace (Ephesians 4:31-32).
We have the case of King Saul. His disobedience caused him to lose his throne (1 Samuel 15:26).
Conclusion:
Supernatural Upliftment is not the result of human effort but God’s divine intervention.
As you remain humble, obedient, and faithful, the God who lifts will elevate you to heights you never imagined.
Trust in Him, and He will break barriers and take you to your next level.
