INTRODUCTION:
There is a realm far above the limitations of the senses—a realm where human logic ends and divine possibilities begin. This is the realm beyond the natural. It is where the spiritual man operates, perceives, and lives. God has not called us to be dominated by what we see, hear, or feel, but to walk in the Spirit and manifest the supernatural realities of the Kingdom.
The natural man is limited by time, space, and matter. But the born-again believer, filled with the Spirit, has access to divine resources that override earthly circumstances. We are seated with Christ in heavenly places, far above principalities and powers. Yet many Christians continue to operate beneath their privileges, not because God is weak, but because they remain natural in their thinking and living.
To experience victory in life and effectiveness in ministry, we must rise above the natural. We must live in constant awareness of God’s presence, power, and purpose. It is only in this higher realm that we can truly discern spiritual things, make impact, and fulfil destiny.
1. UNDERSTANDING THE REALM BEYOND THE NATURAL
a) It is a spiritual dimension (1 Corinthians 2:14):
This realm is not accessed by intellect or logic but by the Spirit of God.
b) It is hidden from the natural man (1 Corinthians 2:9):
What God has prepared for us is beyond what the eyes can see or ears can hear.
c) It requires spiritual discernment (1 Corinthians 2:10):
Only those who walk with the Holy Spirit can tap into this realm.
d) It is the realm of divine revelation and mysteries (Deuteronomy 29:29):
In this realm, God unveils His secrets and strategies for life.
Biblical Example: Elisha operated in this realm when he saw the chariots of fire around him, while his servant only saw the enemy (2 Kings 6:15–17).
2. ACCESSING THE REALM BEYOND THE NATURAL
a) Through the new birth (John 3:6):
Only those born of the Spirit can see and enter the Kingdom realm.
b) Through a renewed mind (Romans 12:2):
Transformation of the mind aligns our thoughts with spiritual realities.
c) Through a life of prayer and consecration (Jude 1:20):
Prayer, especially in the Spirit, builds spiritual sensitivity.
d) Through the Word of God (Hebrews 4:12):
The Word reveals the unseen and trains our spirits to discern.
Biblical Example: Daniel accessed the spiritual realm through fasting and prayer, receiving divine insight into mysteries (Daniel 10:1–14).
3. CHARACTERISTICS OF THOSE WHO LIVE BEYOND THE NATURAL
a) They walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7):
Their decisions are not controlled by circumstances but by God's Word.
b) They are spiritually minded (Romans 8:6):
They set their affections on things above, not on earthly matters.
c) They manifest the fruit and gifts of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22, 1 Corinthians 12:7–10):
They live fruitful lives and operate in divine power.
d) They are guided by divine revelation, not mere logic (Isaiah 55:8–9):
God’s ways become their compass, even when it defies human understanding.
Biblical Example: Philip was supernaturally transported by the Spirit after baptising the Ethiopian eunuch (Acts 8:39–40).
4. BENEFITS OF OPERATING IN THE REALM BEYOND THE NATURAL
a) Victory over sin, satan, and self (Romans 8:1–2):
The law of the Spirit of life sets us free from natural limitations.
b) Access to divine wisdom and solutions (James 1:5):
God imparts supernatural understanding for daily challenges.
c) Supernatural supply and favour (Philippians 4:19):
Needs are met by God's riches, not earthly economies.
d) Boldness and authority in spiritual matters (Luke 10:19):
We exercise dominion over powers of darkness and enforce victory.
Biblical Example: Paul lived in this realm—surviving shipwrecks, healing the sick, and receiving divine direction constantly (Acts 27:21–25, Acts 16:6–10).
CONCLUSION:
To remain bound to the natural is to live beneath your inheritance in Christ. The supernatural is not for a few; it is your birthright as a child of God. Jesus did not die to make you ordinary—He called you to live in the Spirit and walk in power.
Rise today and embrace the reality of your new life in Christ. Feed your spirit, walk by faith, and live in constant fellowship with the Holy Spirit. The realm beyond the natural is your place of victory and divine expression. Live there daily.
