ALL BECAUSE OF HIS GRACE
Several Bible verses affirm that everything is because of God’s grace, including:
Romans 3:24: “And all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”
Ephesians 2:8-9: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”
1 Corinthians 1:4: “I always thank my God for you because of His grace given you in Christ Jesus.”
Giving Thanks for Grace in All Circumstances
We often easily say, “All because of His grace,” when we experience good things. But what about when we face difficulties? The Bible teaches us to remain thankful and acknowledge God’s grace in every situation, both in joy and sorrow:
1 Thessalonians 5:18: “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:13: “I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.”
2 Corinthians 4:8: “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair.”
These verses affirm that God’s grace is at work even in the midst of suffering and hardship. Giving thanks in tough situations is an act of faith that God remains sovereign and His love never changes.
Connection to Life: Living in Grace
If we live with an awareness of grace, then:
We have a sense of security, because our lives are in God’s hands.
We gain courage to face challenges, because His grace supports us.
We experience peace, because we trust that everything is in His good plan.
We are motivated to do good, not to earn salvation, but as a response of gratitude for the grace already given.
Biblical Examples: Those Who Faced Hardship Yet Acknowledged His Grace
Several biblical figures endured great suffering but still acknowledged God’s grace and goodness:
Joseph: Betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, imprisoned because of false accusations, yet remained faithful and ultimately said, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good…” (Genesis 50:20).
Job: Lost everything, yet said, “The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” (Job 1:21). Job continued to see his life as a gift of grace, even in deep suffering.
Paul: Experienced much suffering, yet remained thankful and saw everything as grace (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).
Conclusion
Saying “all because of His grace” should not only be said in good times, but also in difficult situations. God’s grace is not limited to pleasant things, but also supports us in suffering. Living in grace means continuing to trust, give thanks, and hold on to God in all circumstances, and making our lives a response of gratitude by doing good.
