Text: Daniel 10:1–21 (Key Verses: 12–13)
Here we have a glimpse into an Unseen War
Daniel 10 pulls back the curtain on a reality many believers overlook: the spiritual realm is real, active, and contested.
It reveals a world where angels and demons battle over nations, destinies, and divine assignments.
What we see with our eyes is only a fraction of what’s truly happening around us. But behind closed doors, warfare is waged for your blessing.
This prophet named Daniel—a man of prayer, vision, and perseverance.
As he is fasting, praying, and waiting for a word from the Lord. Days go by. No answer. Yet, unbeknown to him, his answer was already on the way, but it got held up in a spiritual conflict.
Let me give you the background context (Daniel 10:1–11)
Daniel receives a troubling vision of great conflict and begins to seek understanding through fasting and prayer.
He doesn’t eat pleasant bread, meat, or wine for three full weeks (21 days). No answer. No response. Just silence.
Daniel, now an old man, could have given up. But his faithfulness in prayer, even without results, reveals a truth we often need to learn:
And that is, just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
The silence of God is not the absence of God.
The delay in your hand does not cancel the decree from His mouth.
Here it is. What’s invisible to you is still active in the heavens.”
Daniel was looking for an answer in verse 1-11 and he didn’t find it.
It was silent. It was quiet. It was still. It was unseen. It was hidden. But that didn’t mean God wasn’t working.”
And many of us have been in the same position, the same state.
It seems like the more we pray, the less we hear. Your prayers for verses 1-11 seems empty and void.
And some people have thrown up theirs hands and gave up, but you ought to tell your neighbor, neighbor don’t give up, wait on verse 12 and 13.
In Verses 12–13: The Blessing Was Sent, But A Battle Ensued
The Bible said in verse 12:
Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days.
Here is what he was saying:
1. “From the First Day”
The angel says Daniel’s prayer was heard the moment he humbled himself and set his heart to seek God. The blessing was released from Heaven the same day the prayer went up!
And what this shows us is, something powerful:
God doesn’t delay; the delay is not in the sending—it’s in the spiritual delivery.
He said, The Prince of Persia Withstood Me”
This is not a human prince, but a demonic principality assigned over the region of Persia.
This dark power resisted the angel, blocking the manifestation of Daniel’s answer.
Let me drop this in your spirit:
The enemy has assigned forces to interfere with your blessing.
He knows what God has spoken. He heard the decree. But he also knows that if he can delay it, if he can distract us, discourage us, and possibly derail us, that we would possibly lose hope in the promises of God.
Here is some good news. Michael… came to help.
Michael, the archangel—God’s warring angel—was dispatched to assist in the battle.
What this shows us is that God won’t leave our blessing hanging. He’ll reinforce it, protect it, and ensure it gets to you—even if He has to send backup!
Spies what’s the Lessons from the Text:
The lesson is that Heaven Heard You the First Time
We can’t mistake silence for absence. From the moment Daniel prayed, the response was set in motion.
Psalm 34:15: “The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.”
I must tell you that there are warfares going on over what belongs to us.
And we must know that the enemy doesn’t fight empty promises—he fights real answers. If it’s being resisted, that means it’s real and valuable.
Come here Ephesians 6:12: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities…”
Delay Is Not Denial
The 21-day hold-up wasn’t a denial of Daniel’s request. It was a delay due to resistance. But it still came through.
Galatians 6:9 says: “Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
So when God sends a blessing, God Will also Send Reinforcements
If it takes Michael, God will send Michael. If it takes a legion of angels, God will deploy angels. If it takes time, God will extend the time, just hold on. But what He promised, He will perform.
The Devil Can Try to Hold It, But He Can’t Keep It”
God’s blessings are like a divine FedEx—you may not see the package yet, but it’s en route. Just because it’s caught in traffic doesn’t mean it was canceled.
Satan tries to be the blessing blocker, but he’s not the blessing originator of the blessing. He didn’t send it, so he can’t stop it.
That reminds me of a story.
There was once a man who inherited a great fortune from his grandfather—millions of dollars stored away in a private bank vault. However, when he went to claim it, the bank’s digital system was locked down due to a cyberattack.
Day after day, he was told, “It’s still yours, but you can’t access it yet.”
He became frustrated, and he almost gave up, but he stayed in contact with the bank and kept checking in.
A few weeks later, the system was restored, and he finally accessed what had been his the entire time.
Here’s the lesson: The money was already his, even while the system was blocked.
The delay didn’t mean denial. The vault held it, but it never changed the owner.
May I tell you, please Keep on Praying, please Keep on Believing, and whatever you do please Keep on Waiting.
The enemy may fight your answer, but he can’t override God’s command. When God sends a word, it will accomplish what it was sent to do (Isaiah 55:11).
Your healing, promotion, financial breakthrough, or family restoration may be delayed—but it’s not denied. Keep fasting. Keep praying. Keep standing.
Don’t stop at day 20. The answer may show up on day 21.
Hold on, saints. There’s warfare in the heavens, but victory is guaranteed on Earth.
God has already spoken. Now wait on Him to deliver it.
