INTRODUCTION:

Life is filled with seasons of adversity—moments when resources are scarce, doors are closed, and hope appears distant. However, for the child of God, there is a supernatural force that can turn tides and rewrite stories even in the most difficult seasons. That force is divine favour. Divine favour is not based on circumstances, qualifications, or connections; it is based on God's sovereign mercy and goodwill towards His children.

In Exodus 3:21, God declared to Moses that despite the oppression of Egypt, the Israelites would not leave empty-handed. He would grant them favour in the sight of the Egyptians. This shows us that even in bondage and hardship, God’s favour can speak and bring about a miraculous turnaround. Favour is the voice of God endorsing you in the ears of others.

Today’s message is a call to trust in God’s ability to cause His favour to distinguish, elevate, and provide for you—even in difficult times. You are not alone, and your hardship is not the end of your story. Favour will speak for you!

1. FAVOUR BRINGS RECOGNITION IN UNLIKELY PLACES

Even when the world overlooks or despises you, God's favour can make you stand out.

a) Favour opens the eyes of others to your value (Genesis 39:4):

Joseph found favour in the eyes of Potiphar, not because of his position but because of God's presence with him.

b) Favour causes honour to replace shame (Esther 2:15):

Despite being an orphan and a foreigner, Esther was preferred above others because of divine favour.

c) Favour breaks the barrier of background or location (Ruth 2:10):

Ruth, a Moabitess, found grace in the eyes of Boaz, despite her outsider status.

d) Favour positions you before great men (Proverbs 22:29):

When God favours you, He causes men of influence to take notice of you.

Biblical Example: Joseph’s journey from the prison to the palace in Egypt (Genesis 41:14-41) demonstrates how favour brings recognition even in adversity.

2. FAVOUR PRESERVES AND PROVIDES IN SEASONS OF LACK

In times of famine or scarcity, favour becomes a shield and a source of supply.

a) Favour leads to supernatural provision (Exodus 3:21):

The Israelites, though slaves, left Egypt with great wealth by God’s favour.

b) Favour turns lack into abundance (Psalm 5:12):

God surrounds the righteous with favour like a shield, bringing blessings even in hard times.

c) Favour ensures needs are met without struggle (Philippians 4:19):

God uses favour to channel resources through unlikely means.

d) Favour grants access to what others are denied (2 Kings 7:1-2):

Elisha prophesied abundance in a time of famine, and favour made it a reality.

Biblical Example: Elijah and the widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17:8-16)—in the midst of famine, favour preserved both of them through divine instruction and miraculous provision.

3. FAVOUR SILENCES ACCUSATIONS AND OPENS DOORS

Favour speaks louder than the voice of the enemy or your past.

a) Favour overrides negative reports and opposition (Romans 8:31):

If God is for us, who can be against us?

b) Favour brings vindication and promotion (Daniel 6:3):

Despite conspiracies, Daniel was preferred above all governors.

c) Favour erases the limitations of past errors (Luke 15:20-22):

The prodigal son found restoration because of the father’s favour, not his past.

d) Favour turns rejection into divine appointment (Psalm 75:6-7):

Promotion comes from God, not from human effort.

Biblical Example: Mordecai was overlooked for a long time, but divine favour caused the king to remember and honour him at the right time (Esther 6:1-11).

4. FAVOUR POSITIONS YOU FOR DIVINE PURPOSE

God’s favour is not just for personal gain, but for divine assignments.

a) Favour opens doors for kingdom impact (Nehemiah 2:4-8):

Nehemiah received everything he needed to rebuild Jerusalem because of favour with the king.

b) Favour establishes you in God’s will (Romans 8:28):

All things work together for your good, not by luck, but by God’s orchestrated favour.

c) Favour draws the right people to you (Luke 2:52):

Jesus increased in favour with God and man, preparing Him for His earthly mission.

d) Favour protects you as you walk in your assignment (Psalm 41:11):

By this I know that You favour me, because my enemy does not triumph over me.

Biblical Example: Esther was favoured to become queen so she could preserve the lives of her people. Her position was for purpose (Esther 4:14).

CONCLUSION:

In difficult times, when others are cast down, you shall be lifted by the power of divine favour. You may be surrounded by lack, delay, rejection, or hardship, but when favour speaks, the story changes. God’s favour is His signature on your destiny, ensuring that no matter what life throws at you, you will emerge victorious.

Let this be your confidence: God’s favour is not seasonal; it is eternal. It doesn’t need man's approval, and it cannot be stopped by circumstances. Receive this truth and walk boldly into your future.
