2 Corinthians 3:17-18

17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom).

18 And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit. -AMPLIFIED-

The Foundation of Glory

Understanding the essence, source, and purpose of God’s glory as the foundation for our Christian journey.

Exodus 33: 12-23

12. Moses said to the Lord, "You have been telling me, 'Lead these people,' but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, 'I know you by name and you have found favor with me.'

13. If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people."

14. The Lord replied, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."

15. Then Moses said to him, "If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.

16. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?"

17. And the Lord said to Moses, "I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name."

18. Then Moses said, "Now show me your glory."

19. And the Lord said, "I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

20. But," he said, "you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live."

21. Then the Lord said, "There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock.

22. When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by.

23. Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen."

19. In accordance with your great love, forgive the sin of these people, just as you have pardoned them from the time they left Egypt until now."

20. The Lord replied, "I have forgiven them, as you asked.

21. Nevertheless, as surely as I live and as surely as the glory of the Lord fills the whole earth,

22. not one of those who saw my glory and the signs I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness but who disobeyed me and tested me ten times—

23. not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their ancestors. No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it.

6. And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, "The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness,

8. Moses bowed to the ground at once and worshiped.

9. "Lord," he said, "if I have found favor in your eyes, then let the Lord go with us. Although this is a stiff-necked people, forgive our wickedness and our sin, and take us as your inheritance."

10. Then the Lord said: "I am making a covenant with you. Before all your people I will do wonders never before done in any nation in all the world. The people you live among will see how awesome is the work that I, the Lord, will do for you.
