THE POWER OF PRAISE IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

"And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever. INTRODUCTION:

Spiritual warfare is a reality for every believer. While prayer and fasting are often emphasised as weapons of warfare, praise remains one of the most powerful, yet often overlooked, tools in securing victory. Praise is not just a response to victory; it is a catalyst that provokes divine intervention even before the battle is won.

When we praise God in the midst of battles, we shift the focus from the size of our problem to the greatness of our God. Praise confuses the enemy, strengthens our spirit, and brings God into active engagement on our behalf. It is not a passive activity but a potent spiritual weapon.

In this teaching, we will explore how praise functions in spiritual warfare, how it has brought victories in Scripture, and how we can intentionally engage it to secure our own supernatural triumphs.

1. PRAISE INVOKES THE PRESENCE OF GOD IN BATTLE

Praise brings God directly into our situations.

a) God Dwells Where He is Praised

Praise creates a throne for God's presence (Psalm 22:3).

b) His Presence Drives Out Darkness

Where God is, no enemy can stand (Psalm 68:1-2).

c) Praise Shifts Our Focus to God’s Power

It magnifies the Lord above the problem (Psalm 34:3).

d) Praise Prepares the Atmosphere for Miracles

It sets the tone for divine intervention (Acts 16:25-26).

Biblical Example: Paul and Silas praised God in prison and experienced miraculous deliverance (Acts 16:25-26).

2. PRAISE RELEASES ANGELIC INTERVENTION

Angels respond to the sound of praise.

a) Angels Are Activated by God's Commands Through Praise

They hearken to the voice of His word (Psalm 103:20).

b) Praise Creates a Highway for Angelic Movement

It clears spiritual obstructions (Genesis 28:12).

c) Victory Often Requires Supernatural Assistance

Angels are sent to help those who inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14).

d) Praise Reinforces the Army of Heaven on Our Behalf

Spiritual battles are fought and won in the unseen realm (2 Kings 6:16-17).

Biblical Example: Jehoshaphat's army praised, and God set ambushments through heavenly forces (2 Chronicles 20:21-22).

3. PRAISE CONFUSES THE ENEMY

Enemies are disoriented when believers praise.

a) Confusion is a Divine Strategy Against the Enemy

God uses confusion to scatter adversaries (Deuteronomy 7:23).

b) Praise Destroys the Unity of Evil Forces

The enemy's alliances break under praise (2 Chronicles 20:23).

c) Praise Turns the Enemy Against Themselves

They fight and destroy one another (Judges 7:22).

d) The Enemy Cannot Understand a Praising Believer

Praise is a language of faith (Habakkuk 3:17-19).

Biblical Example: The enemies of Judah destroyed themselves as Judah praised God (2 Chronicles 20:23).

4. PRAISE DEMONSTRATES FAITH BEFORE VICTORY

Praising God ahead of the breakthrough proves trust.

a) Praise is a Prophetic Declaration of Victory

It is calling those things that be not as though they were (Romans 4:17).

b) Faith Without Praise is Incomplete

Praise is faith expressed vocally and joyfully (Hebrews 13:15).

c) Praising Before Seeing Results Activates the Supernatural

God honours faith displayed in praise (John 11:41-43).

d) Faith-Filled Praise Provokes Instant Divine Action

Heaven moves on the wings of faith (Mark 11:23-24).

Biblical Example: Joshua and the Israelites shouted in faith and the walls of Jericho fell (Joshua 6:20).

5. LIVING A LIFESTYLE OF PRAISE SECURES CONTINUAL VICTORY

Victory is sustained by continuous praise.

a) Praise Must Be Daily and Deliberate

Let His praise be continually in your mouth (Psalm 34:1).

b) Consistent Praise Builds a Victorious Spirit

It strengthens us against future battles (Nehemiah 8:10).

c) Praise Keeps You Spiritually Alert

Joy keeps your spirit alive and sensitive (Isaiah 12:3).

d) God Continually Fights for the Praising Believer

Praise secures God's permanent engagement (Exodus 15:11).

Biblical Example: King David’s life of continual praise secured him lifelong victories (Psalm 23:1-6).

CONCLUSION:

The power of praise in spiritual warfare is undeniable. It is an act of faith, a weapon of battle, and a catalyst for divine intervention. When you engage in heartfelt praise, you summon the presence of God, confuse the enemy, activate angelic support, and demonstrate your unwavering trust in God.

Today, make praise a major weapon in your arsenal of spiritual warfare. No matter the battle you face, choose to praise your way into victory and watch God fight for you in supernatural ways.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father, I thank You because You are enthroned in my praise.

2. Lord, teach me to praise You even before I see the victory.

3. O God, arise and scatter every enemy as I lift my voice in praise.

4. Father, release Your angels to work on my behalf as I praise You.

5. Lord, make my life a daily altar of victorious praise.
