INTRODUCTION:
The cross is not just a symbol of pain; it is the place where divine exchange happened. Jesus bled—not just as a tragic victim, but as a sacrificial Lamb. Every drop of His blood was purposeful and powerful, bringing deliverance and blessings to humanity. The shedding of His blood was the ultimate price for our eternal redemption.
Throughout His suffering and crucifixion, Jesus bled from different parts of His body. Each instance of bleeding carries a spiritual message and blessing. His bleeding was not in vain—it secured our forgiveness, healing, peace, and dominion.
As we reflect on the precious blood of Jesus, may our hearts be opened to understand that our blessings today were fully paid for at the cost of His suffering.
1. HIS BLOOD BROUGHT US FORGIVENESS OF SINS
Before the subpoints, understand that without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness. Jesus' blood reconciles us with the Father and washes away all guilt.
a) The blood satisfied divine justice
According to Hebrews 9:22, without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins. Jesus' blood was the perfect atonement for all.
b) His blood cleanses our conscience
The blood not only forgives sin but also removes the guilt and shame (Hebrews 9:14).
c) The blood of Jesus brings reconciliation
Through His blood, we are no longer enemies of God but friends and children (Colossians 1:20).
d) We have peace through His blood
True peace with God is a blessing that flows from the cross (Romans 5:1).
Biblical Example: The Passover in Exodus 12 shows how the blood marked the homes of God's people and preserved them from judgment.
2. HIS BLOOD RELEASED OUR HEALING
Before the subpoints, realise that divine healing is part of the atonement. By His stripes, we are healed physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
a) His back was beaten for our healing
Jesus received stripes so we could be made whole (1 Peter 2:24).
b) Healing is a covenant provision
God promised healing to His people through the sacrifice of Christ (Exodus 15:26).
c) Every sickness was nailed to the cross
Jesus bore our infirmities so we wouldn't carry them (Isaiah 53:4).
d) The blood speaks better things than sickness
The voice of the blood silences every affliction (Hebrews 12:24).
Biblical Example: The woman with the issue of blood experienced healing when she touched the hem of His garment—a prophetic picture of accessing the power in His blood (Mark 5:25-34).
3. HIS BLOOD GAVE US VICTORY OVER THE DEVIL
Before the subpoints, remember that the blood of Jesus is a weapon of warfare. It silences the accuser and breaks every curse and bondage.
a) We overcome by His blood
Revelation 12:11 declares the blood as our victory over Satan.
b) The blood breaks generational curses
Every legal right of the enemy is cancelled through the blood (Galatians 3:13).
c) The blood shuts the mouth of the accuser
Satan has no case against the blood-washed (Romans 8:33-34).
d) The blood provides divine immunity
It becomes a covering and protection from every form of evil (Exodus 12:13).
Biblical Example: Rahab's scarlet cord (a type of Christ’s blood) secured her deliverance when Jericho fell (Joshua 2:17-21).
4. HIS BLOOD OPENED ACCESS TO GOD
Before the subpoints, note that Jesus' death tore the veil, granting us free access to God's presence.
a) No more barrier between us and God
The veil was torn from top to bottom to show divine invitation (Matthew 27:51).
b) We now have boldness to approach God
The blood gives us confidence to enter His presence (Hebrews 10:19-22).
c) We are now royal priests by His blood
The blood made us kings and priests unto our God (Revelation 1:5-6).
d) We carry His presence wherever we go
His blood sanctifies us to be vessels of honour (2 Timothy 2:21).
Biblical Example: In the Old Testament, only the high priest could enter the Holy of Holies once a year, but now every believer has full-time access through Christ's blood.
5. HIS BLOOD PURCHASED OUR COMPLETE BLESSING
Before the subpoints, understand that Jesus became poor, wounded, and rejected so that we might receive the full blessings of the covenant.
a) His blood purchased our freedom from poverty
He became poor so we could be rich in every good thing (2 Corinthians 8:9).
b) His blood redeemed us from rejection and shame
He was despised so we could be accepted and honoured (Isaiah 53:3).
c) We are joint-heirs with Christ
All that belongs to Christ is now legally available to us (Romans 8:17).
d) His blessings are irreversible
What the blood secures, no demon can reverse (Numbers 23:20).
Biblical Example: Mephibosheth, though lame and forgotten, was restored to royalty because of a covenant between David and Jonathan—just as we are restored by the blood covenant (2 Samuel 9:1-13).
CONCLUSION:
The cross of Christ was not just a moment in history—it was the turning point of humanity. His bleeding was the payment; our blessings are the result. You are not cursed, forsaken, or defeated. Every drop of blood Jesus shed was purposeful, powerful, and permanent in its effect. As you embrace His finished work, you begin to walk in the fullness of what His suffering secured. Refuse to live below the blessings His blood has made available. His bleeding has changed your story!
